Richtofen is honestly a story about pure depression and anxiety. His ego is built upon an overall feeling of needing to be cared for and depended on. I think because he passed the burden onto someone else is a sign that he became completely consumed by depression because his suffering and constant attempts to do the right actions only led to furthering the paradox. Passing the burden to Nikolai is his effort in escaping the seemingly never ending hole of depression. Easily one of the most complex characters in history.

Richtofen was always my favourite character. He was the best written and voiced. I didn't mind ultimis richtofen because he was relatable but primus was just fucking nuts. And I can't help but love that.

also I'll tell you what my dad told me. You are your own worst enemy. This is very true. Nobody can tear you apart like yourself. Nobody can judge you harder. Thing is. Not everyone meets this criteria. It takes above average IQ to truly be hard on yourself. Lower IQ people will blame others. They will make excuses and never change. But only one who is truly self aware can look in the mirror and grapple with everything that makes them who they are. Could you have done better? Could you let go of your pride? Did you make a mistake?
