Hey y’all. I’m sorry if you’re not able to find the files that I posted last year. They weren’t my files so I have no control over whether they stay or go. There are lots of other similar files on thingiverse or other 3-D printing sites. Let me know what you find! Have fun!

Very cool! 3D printing has made it so affordable to make your own things (and there are so many communities out there providing 'blueprints' for whatever it is you want to make. I don't have one yet but definitely planning on getting one.

It's amazing all the things you can make. We've made so many things that we never even thought of purchasing, hah, but have improved our lives in little ways.

This is awesome - I'll definitely show the Boy. At first glance, I think your 3D printer is bigger than his - but I'll have him look. I've already set him to the task of printing me a charka (box spinning wheel) when his schedule calms down for summer. SO COOL!

May I ask why you used PLA and not PETG . I thought pla would break down over time because of moisture ,heat and up light ? The reason I ask is cause I want to mane some grow room items that will be exposed to wet, damp , 85f temps and UV lighting from grow lights
@Rza0-z4s5 ай бұрын
That's being used indoors and T5's won't heat the PLA beyond the point the PLA warps. PETG/PLA are both going to absorb water the same and leak the same I think. Some people just coat with epoxy. Since it's not coated with epoxy water can permeate and develop little bacteria pockets, but I think bacteria is all over the garden so not really an issue. If your treating the water with a biocide which you probably have too, especially with white planters + bucket then your killing off those bacteria packets anyways.

How are you going to control algea?
@RoguePreparedness Жыл бұрын
It has a pump which circulates the water every 20 mins. In addition, water is changed out and replaced with new water regularly. Plus, the light does not shine into the water so the production of algae is not likely. Never impossible, but not likely.
@tradermunky1998 Жыл бұрын
@@RoguePreparedness Cool, best of luck! In my experience I think you will have a problem with it. The fact you can see down it with a camera means too much light getting in there in my opinion. Any algae will throw off your hydro solution and gunk up plant roots, but if you're constantly changing the water you might be alright. Interesting experiment, can't wait to see how it works out!
@RoguePreparedness Жыл бұрын
Oh, I guess I didn’t show on camera that I added some rocks around the seed starters to further prevent light from getting it. Did that after the video. But yeah, I’m aware to watch for it.
@valmac1234 Жыл бұрын
This is my favorite video in a long time! This is so much more affordable! 💰 Thank you for sharing! I'm curious how it turns out. How many hours do you leave the lights on?
@RoguePreparedness Жыл бұрын
We have the lights on for about 12-14 hours, it could probably stand to stay on a full 16, but I manually turn them on and off so normally doesn’t get a full 15, but it seems to be doing great with 12-14!
