I was in highschool when I started following these guys.. Even though I went in a little bit different direction, our studio is one of the leaders in archviz in our country.. you guys (darek, wojtek, jonas) are one of the reasons of where I am today.. thank you guys

The difficult part when self taught is to find that one discipline when you want to specialize in so many stuff. Lighting, texturing, Digital sculpting, Mech design
@artdepartmentpodcast3 жыл бұрын
Too many cool things to do haha. But honestly its not only when self taught. This is something that will be a constant struggle even 20 years into this career. :)

Im a 17 year old girl living in Switzerland(originally from Syria) been drawing everyday just out of energy and desire for a while. Your amazing podcasts have helped me a lot. I have a vision of what way I want to go but I‘m afraid that I might be starting too early? Is that a thing?. Art school is not an option for me (because of financial reasons)
@artdepartmentpodcast3 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as starting too early!!! :) But focus on what brings you joy rather then be too job focused at this point.

Hope all goes well! I'm from Switzerland as well :) The art industry isn't big here, so keep at it and you'll get it!

@@forestpump3 ty:) I’m doing a Matura right now and no one here really knows what I’m talking about. And the prices for such schools🫡 🚪🚶♀️. It’s really hard I’ve been contemplating on just doing design💀 And try to work myself up into the industry when I’m a bit older. Im on my own and idk what to do but someday I hope. -bc I’m too stubborn to give up rn haha. Thank you and goodlucktoyoutoo! People like you keep me motivated

Just asking: What was the name of the guy from Poland, which inspired Darek? I cannot hear it correctly.

I really love this kind of podcast, and even in love of your reality job comment There are too many prettified and positive things about art industry, but i really hope to get to know all the real cruelty of this industry, no industry is just for fun only, must be something that we dont know too
@artdepartmentpodcast3 жыл бұрын
Yeah indeed, its' good to be realistic. But unfortunately there is a lot more negative news about the industry these days though. Sad to hear :(

@@artdepartmentpodcast Is it possible to do one podcast about truth or reality vs expectations working without damaging company name or individual names? I have many friend complain about their job that they don't like because they are working in engineering, and hope I can show them reality is not all fun
