As a young aspiring filmmaker hearing you guys discuss realistic productivity/schedules while working remotely was so refreshing. I constantly can begin to feel guilty if I'm not putting in x amount of hours because some guy on insta claims he works 16 hours a day, 6 days a week lol

I love the rawness in some of these thoughts and the fact that you decide to find out what they are instead of just moving onto something else. It's a great podcast.

Great one guys~ I believe in “seasons”… maybe 9mo you are killing it and then 6mo you do bare minimum. And that’s ok to be in the “off season” sometimes 😆

Oh thats a good point! I'm way too quick to beat myself up if I don't have things lined up.

Guys. Whether it’s you hosting a guest and listen carefully, asking interesting questions or just you two reasoning about burning topics - it’s always a pleasure and this podcast has become one of THE things I look forward week after week. Chapeau

Thanks guys, this episode was really useful for me. I had a lot of anxiety surrounding my practice and how I approach productivity. It is definitely comforting to hear you address similar concerns to the ones I have been facing. It's also funny to hear we have very similar schedules Jan!

Great Jamie! All the peer pressure around us can really drive us insane. When all thats needed is a quiet moment and honesty with ourselves.

Thank you for this episode and all the others of course ;) I remember this one interview with a concept design student that said that he is not getting a girlfriend in order to focus on the art and crunch through. For me, this was a bit shocking. Maybe it works for him but I have so much joy in meeting with friends, spending time with the partner, seeing stuff etc. I also have hobbies that are so meaningful to me that they are kinda equal to creating art. It is always sad to me when meeting other artists or people and they have nothing other than work or art to talk about. All these other things that bring fun and joy into my life besides art I find very important. They can also support you when something happens in life. Imagine not being able to do art or being stuck in a not so great job or task. When you have more things you care about the impact will be definitely reduced :) And maybe on a small note: having other hobbies and things you are interested in are often quite beneficial for the art-job as well. Especially if you have to design something.

Thank you for sharing and whole heartedly agree! Everything outside of art we do and enjoy heavily influences and improves our creative skills.

Great episode again! I’m happy you’re advocating for doing things according to what works for each individual, even if that does not align with what sounds cool and works with others (i.e. exercising in the morning). Also really appreciate hearing your honest thoughts on priorities and how you’re dealing with life/family/work priorities and balance. Thanks :)

Hey, I really enjoyed to listen to this episode with you, examining each other's fears and self-perceived shortcomings. Also you did a good job in demystifying perfect productivity purely achieved by method. I agree there isn't the "one ideal way" that works for every artist. Thanks for this one!
