I'm using clove water, too. What's nice for me is that I have been able to stop using protective styles (which didn't do anything for my hair, looked awful and kept me in wigs). My hair behaves, I can style it and not have a ball of hair in my hand afterward, and the tangling is much less than before.

You can leave it in the fridge or outside (underneath the bathroom cabinet). It should last for several months under the cabinet and it can last for years in the fridge. Cloves doesn't go bad, but the fragrance may be less the longer you have it.

Co-wash is short for "conditioning wash". It's the practice of washing your hair with a conditioner, rather than a shampoo. It's a great method for people who wash their hair often. Conditioners contain surfactants, the same as shampoos, only the surfactants in conditioners are not as foamy, nor as "stripping or deep cleansing" as the ones in a shampoo. When you mainly co-wash your hair, it's important to use a regular shampoo at least twice a month, and a clarifying shampoo at least once a month, in order to remove build up on the hair that a conditioner is unable to do.
