Yep. once you get near too or around 30, the I don't care anymore wall kicks in . Mine hit around 27/28 & I was selling a lot of my stuff on depop. I cleared out most of my bags & some clothes, make-up, just everything got a sort through. You reach at point in life where the none of this matters & I don't go anywhere these days. Life gets tiring & after a while, you feel like everything owns you & not you own it. 😞

I totally resonate with this. I got very sick and had to learn to walk again. Now, because of the nerve damage in my feet - I cannot wear my stunning high heels anymore and this really threw me for a loop because I used to craft my outfits around the shoes which I wanted to wear that day. So, I have had to learn about flatter shoes and how to make an outfit more personal and interesting with accessories and such. It is still a struggle some days, but it is becoming a little simpler over time.

i feel like a LOT of influencers and celebrities get to the same point amber was at but would probably have just thrown them away or gave them all to a charity shop where they'll be either bought to upsale or lost in the sauce. the fact amber took the time to try on, wash, photo, make a listing, sell, post every single item (pretty much) is amazing to see

Or.. If it doesn't sell in the charity shops, gets bundled into huge bales, sold and exported to third nations like Nigeria and Ghana where they try to sell it on second-hand clothing markets. All the cheapy fast fashion that seems to be pushed nowadays, Shein, and Fashion Nova, to name a couple, are seen as poor quality (which is true) by even the poorest of folk, dismissed and end up (usually by illegal dumping) polluting their waterways. I think I read once that nowadays 40% of a bale of clothes might not sell in these countries.

I'd recommend getting your personal colors done if you want a wardrobe that flatters you! Having a color scheme makes a default capsule wardrobe, plus you only spend on clothes you know will look good!

This is awesome. I literally just deep-cleaned a bathroom Friday and cleared EVERYTHING out, only replacing the items that will be right for that space. Removing the visual "noise" helps the energy flow so much better. This is essentialism at its best and I'm gonna get the whole house like this. Great job-you need less than 1/4 of what you originally had to be happy in the first place. The closet went from looking like a few tornados just hit it to an Architectural Digest feature and I’m here for it! So gorgeous! I just did almost the same - just need to finish some crazy projects at work then I can do the other half of my closet. I donated to a place that weighs the batch of clothes you donate, so from just half of my closet.. it was 8.5kg (18.7lbs) ! Felt so good already, must do the other half then help the rest of my fam to do theirs. The hardest part is actually starting and keeping at it! Locally we’ll say “add oil” aka gas it! (Keep pushing!) the end results are so worth it!

Don’t go backwards. It’s called growth. Sometimes you learn yourself by not being your old self. The problem starts when you miss your old self. You were already that person… the you now is growing and making you see yourself again so you don’t go back to it. It’s hard from here but easier when you’re not alone. I go to God and I’m still struggling but I can finally see… I need to grow up and grow out of my old ways. ❤

I've been doing the same thing as of late, I used to love fashion and "blogging" and reading and after a big mental breakdown I just couldn't bring myself to love any of it anymore! But this year (after 7 years) I've finally been able to enjoy them again, I've been able to actually style outfits and read every night and even get back into Sewing, and it's been such an amazing feeling ❤

I recently got rid of a lot of my clothes, and I feel like I’m more myself now, I would think, do I really need something to collect dust. And if I give my old clothes a new home somebody may love my clothes more than I did. And since then, when I go shopping, I really try to think, if it’ll match my other clothes I own, and if I’ll wear it. And Amber, you’ve really inspired me.
