Thank you so much for this! We've watched a ton of videos on growing & harvesting microgreens. All of them have been helpful, but we haven't come across many that go through the entire process for market day prep & display setup. So this is awesome! Professionally, my background spans a lot of different industries. Among them are marketing and web design. Because of that I am super into the business and display/aesthetic sides of selling things from our fledgling homestead, especially creating cohesive branding and customizing as much as you possibly can . Even though your product isn't design-based, public perception can be quite a huge factor in how successful market days and demo days (at restaurants or with caterers, food trucks etc.) can be. How you package and display everything can have a significant effect on sales. So I was so glad to see your process for that, for labeling and packaging and setting up your display at the market. And your idea if the checklist was a great one. We live roughly 45 minutes from the main metro area where we plan to do most of our market selling. And with traffic being as terrible as it is literally every day except Sunday mornings, there would be no going back home if we forgot something. It seems like a really small detail, but I think it's one that people who are completely new to selling at markets (like us) could easily overlook. A TON of great info in this vid. You've definitely won over a new subscriber! Love to you and your family! ❤️

I am so inspired to sell these even more now! Thanks for this! No one sells here in rural Missouri at our FM! Excited to find your channel and new sub!!!-Kristy in Missouri 😁

Best of luck! With it being new to your farmer's market, people will question it at first but it helps to have some little samples for them to try! Also asking everyone who walks by your table if they know what microgreens are and engaging them!

Were in missouri and planning to try out a farmers market in two weeks to sell :)

That was great. Thanks. When you sell those small trays does the tray go with it? If so, how much are those with the microgreens? That's a great idea.

Once you’ve harvested, do you have to replant or will they grow back?
@staryfamilyfarm11644 жыл бұрын
Most of them you have to replant. Peas will grow back if you only cut them down half way when you harvest them.

If I use the blender on the wheat grass do I have to strain it? Very good video, thank you.
@staryfamilyfarm11645 жыл бұрын
Yes, there will be clumps of wheatgrass to strain out! I had to add water to the blender so it could do its job better!

Is that paper towel that you put in the bottom of the containers? What's it for? And do you transport the microgreens with any ice or cold packs in the totes?
@staryfamilyfarm11645 жыл бұрын
I do sometimes put paper towels in the bottom of containers if the microgreens are still a little wet from the last watering the day before to absorb some of that water as well as punching out some holes toward the bottom of those containers. When it gets hotter here, I will be putting ice packs in the bottom of coolers with a towel over those and the microgreen containers on top so there isn't direct contact ( If the microgreens get too cold, they will go bad faster).

Oooo what is in your country blend? Pretty please tell all!! 😍
@staryfamilyfarm11644 жыл бұрын
I basically used microgreens that I already was growing so I mixed in peas, radish, arugula, mustard, and sunflower :)
