Love these types of dirty/ gritty builds. Brings more realism to the world, great build, favorite Cities Skylines build on KZbin right now. Idea for a future build: This oil field/ refinery is pretty close to the port, it wouldn't be unrealistic for a pipeline directly to the port be built, to save money on transportation.

Absolutely lovely depiction of how dystopian oil extraction and refining is. You even committed building any freight hub for the train track that is practically running through your oil field. Now all the freight gets dumped on the highway for maximum wear and tear on your street infrastructure. 10/10 realism.

Happy new year. Love the build, but I'm missing a cargo terminal, to send oil to the harbour by rail. It seems like such a waste right off the turnoff to the harbour to not have one

You nailed the grungy look of the oilfield! Love the personality it brought to Corniferia. A couple ideas. It would look cool to have a railyard located near the oilfield as another way to transport the oil. Maybe across the highway could be a good spot since it looks relatively flat. Second, where I am from, there are lots of abandoned farm houses on the properties adjacent to oilfields due to oil companies buying up tons of land, but not yet developing on those properties.

This is what I basically always do, and have always done - and admittedly that will also impact the perceived realism, but it's just a more fun approach for me than pre-planning 😊

Wonderful build, as always! I agree with Joshua Ebanks below - a pipeline to the harbour would be a great addition, instead of a train. What I'd add to the area is some sort of a security checkpoint. Feels like an area that would have limited access. Also, loving the music you're using in your videos.

@@Infrastructurist I made a video to show my friend (very bad quality) on my channel 'simstax'of how I use it. Im workig on a new city now and happy to show you though im sure your more than capable to wotk it out. Requires a lot of testing and tweaking but it provides an actual elemant of realis to the industry dlc, like trasferring crops by train, full f contol over the building input/outputs. Create giga plants (multiple copy and pasted unique factories ? for example. Make a shit tonne of dough as well. With your detailing skill level it will be great content for you 😎

You should make a small town near these oil fields that matches the dirty and dingy vibe. Lots of big industrial companies would establish towns near the industry to supply cheap housing to workers, so i think it would be realistic

I wonder though, given the proximity of the oil fields and the refinery to the _Brickland Strait_ why didn't you put the oil depot on the other side (closer to the refinery rather than in Port Douglas)?

I saw trucks spawning from oil wells. Also you have connected each oil well with pipes. It would be more realistic if you direct each pipe to a storage building, from where, the trucks can collect and transport it. You can change spawning points using a mod.

Would it be possible to keep the grungy look without as much vegetation around the pumpjacks themselves? Most extraction sites I've seen keep growth to a minimum to cut down on fire hazard where it could jeopardize millions of dollars in drilling work. Great work as always, the refinery looks awesome!
