Selma J. M. Eikelenboom-Schieveld is a forensic scientist at Independent Forensic Services (IFS) in Santa Fe, NM. She received a degree from the College for Social Work in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1976, followed by 10 years’ experience in psychotherapeutic treatment. Selma graduated from Medical School from the Free University in Amsterdam in 1992. She worked eight years as a resident in surgery, emergency medicine, obstetrics, and internal medicine. From 2000 on, she focused on medical forensics as coroner for the city of Amsterdam and at the Biology Department of the Netherland’s Forensic Institute, the state forensic laboratory. In 2003, she started IFS, with her husband, who is a forensic DNA expert. In 2011 they moved to Colorado, and opened a second laboratory. Through her forensic medical work, she became interested in a possible association between DNA variants, psychoactive medication and violence. That became the emphasis of her work, leading to a research project with the University of Denver and a PhD in March 2021. In January of 2021 she and husband moved to Santa Fe, NM.

It’s ironic how wrong the pharmaceutical business model is. Money doesn’t make the earth go round. Medication can be so damaging to the progress of the human race. Thank you. Your videos with the nice experts give me goosebumps and hope.

One of the best, clearest and scientific explanations. Thanks! I totally agree that the tapering, because of this, is quite a gamble too, but of course one doesn't have a lot of alternatives. I also agree on exercise, even if in the depths of wd with insonnia and akathisia it feels like a joke on the long run hopefully it helps. P.S. I never met a doctor ever concerned by metabolism of any drug in my life ^^

Dr Selma's comments at 25.20 about lithium are clear. My honest pharmacist told me that the doctors would not warn me about lithium toxicity. I am permanently damaged because a doctor did nothing to check if I was toxic. My health deteriorated for many months. It was a very surreal experience to see the complacency for my well-being. Instead the psychiatrist added an anti-depressant to my daily medication when I said I was struggling to care for my two young children.

I took up tai chi and went back to school to heal from 35 years of psychiatric abuse. In one year, I'll have a BA in psychology. I now know from the inside out just how evil the mental health system really is.

This is cliche and naive to say, but I agree that no one in "their right mind" would be committing some of the heinous crimes we've seen since the proliferation of anti-depressants.

Pls don't believe Selma, her work put a guy 14 years in jail when innocent. I think she does anything to benefit otherwise she will not put in the effort. Her research 😂😂 that will be a very narrow minded study
