Back in the day some“ye olden” builders had a preference for knob x lever on exterior doors as a lever on the exterior could more easily be twisted off by hand in the event of burglary.

I've mastered keyed Weslocks many times. That Plug diameter is 515 I believe. I actually have a follower for them. I was re-Keying them so much I called Weslock, and purchased a follower. However I don't widen the cuts, then again i don't widen them on Kwikset either.

Funky as can be, but arguably better than the Bezo basics, and no plastic parts like the king of the market Junkset, and uses normal sized pins and followers unlike National, we might have a winner here.... ok ok no winner here.

Hi Jason. Dumb question. Are the flats that need to be widened on the spacing the same measurements as kwikset if using 14MC cutter wheel?

@@thewhittierlocksmith121 * measure cards … looks like it but if you are using lab .003 to rekey you don’t need to widen really. I usually only “brr” back and forth a tiny bit on either anyway

Jason, I watched your video on elemake. I picked up a few of there mechanical locks. Customers complain about batteries on the their keyless entry dieing. Especially in montana in the winter. I'm having issues rekeying them. Have you done a video on rekeying elemake mechanical locks? I can't find any rekey videos on them from anybody. I destroyed one lock already trying to take it apart. You said something about next video. An Elemake rekey would be greatly appreciated.

I just upgraded my interior knobs (which were circa 1958 aluminum Weslock knobs), and my front door handle set (a late 1970s weslock uniguard), and I am glad I did. The latches are clearly the problem on their products. Not bad for over 60 years of service, but that latch design is horrible.
