Love the advice, especially at the end. The Q&A was great. I practice portion control & mindful eating. High protein & low carbs. It works. I practice pretty much everything you mentioned. Thanks for educating the masses! It helps so many people on this journey.

Not everyone is overweight because of food & a bad diet. Some people don’t eat fast food & still can’t get it off. Two people can be on the same diet & exercise plan for one month. And only one will gain weight. Why?! That’s the question. Why are some people born skinny & stay skinny their entire life, while some are born chubby & continue to gain weight throughout life? Some people struggle to gain weight because they are underweight. And then there are people who are overweight & struggle to lose it. That’s plain genetics. Or yes, it can be parents who do not feed their kids a healthy diet or give them enough exercise. But when a healthy model is given & the kids are still battling being underweight or from obesity, what is it?! Genetics! There is so much to consider. Because everyone is different. Hormones, age, high chronic stress levels, cortisol levels, illness & disease, Fibromyalgia, autoimmune issues, disabilities, mobility issues, genetics. And yes, some are due to a poor diet, lack of exercise & some eating disorders. But I’m pretty sure that’s probably not even the half of it. Not everyone is able to exercise enough because of disabilities, mobility issues & limitations. Especially if they are obese & have other comorbidities. Doctors tell you to lose weight so you don’t get diabetes, PVD, limb amputation, Kidney, cancers, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer & heart issues etc…. To lose the weight before it kills you but some don’t care to actually help you medically after you have tried everything. They love to talk the talk but they don’t want to walk the walk ..with you! Now I say some doctors. I’m not saying ALL. Some are more than happy to help! Some doctors are totally against helping. And some refuse to prescribe a GLP-1. Some refuse to write a clinical preauthorization when denied. They are either lazy & don’t want to do the work or they are just against it being used for obesity, which is a huge epidemic in America! 70% of America is a HUGE #! We have a problem. We give medication for mental health, for other illness & disease. Why are so many insurance companies & doctors against helping obese people lose weight so that they can prevent or stop their disease?! We know that certain disease & illness can be reversed through weight management. It saves money! It saves lives! Those types of doctors are the problem. People have to realize that when your doctor doesn’t have your best interest at heart, that you have every right to fire them! And find a new one that will work with you to make you healthy. Seeing a dietician, nutritionist, bariatric doctor & doing even minimal exercises like chair exercises if possible can only help so much for some people. Some people need a leg up. After doing everything right, they get frustrated & give up because they have no help or guidance. You can’t expect someone to eat half of what you eat & not be hungry every day, forever. When people are frustrated & hungry, that’s when it goes wrong. They tend to over eat or eat the wrong thing after starving themselves for however long their diet was. It’s not a suitable diet to maintain. There are so many different diets & that can be confusing & challenging. Because everyone is so different. What works for one may not work for another. Another problem is equity. Losing weight costs a lot of money. And people on disability or the elderly or even a single parent, can barely afford to live as it is. They live on a tight budget. And they can’t afford to pay health coaches, weight watchers or trainers etc… Their funds are limited. And let’s face it… Healthy organic food is way more expensive than other foods. We know there is a difference. It’s not just a #. Organic is simply better. When people live on a budget, they have to feed their family however they can. This is a problem when it comes to obese people in the poor living standard. How can we fix this? Something needs to help them. And the GLP-1’s work for some people. It should be available for anyone who needs it. Money should not be an issue when it comes to health. There needs to be sliding scale fees so that everyone can benefit. That scale should be based on their family size & income. Cola only goes up every few years. Yet inflation fluctuates & rises every year. Hospitals are a business model. Healthy people do not make them money! It’s a sick care model & needs to change! Primary doctors are not required to take a lot of diet & nutrition classes. They do the minimum & only every few years. That’s sad! I just want to say a BIG thank you to those doctors who are helping & guiding people through their journey. You are saving a life. An obese parent can affect the family unit in such a way that they cannot help raise their kids because they are physically limited or have illness & disease from the weight itself. So helping that parent in turn helps the entire family unit. Because once they lose that weight, they can be healthier & more mobile. That weight also affects any injuries or joints etc… So losing weight can lesson pain symptoms as well. People need to stop judging. They don’t choose this life. There are many factors involved & everyone’s story is different! They are not the same! Give them the support & guidance that they need. Be humble & kind. Make a change. Make a difference. We donate to cancer societies. We donate to heart organizations. Is there an obese organization that can help these people? We need one. Obesity can be a chronic health issue. And they need the help & support. Whether it be through guidance or financial, we need something to help these people. To be a steward for them. To stand up & fight for them. Again, thank you to all of the doctors out there who genuinely care for & help your obese patients through their journey.

Don’t fret. It can take 3 or more months for it to work. Keep up the good work. And if Wegovy doesn’t work by month 4-5 then try Mounjaro. They don’t work for everyone. But sometimes it really just takes time & a higher dose to take effect first. Don’t give up.

Zepbound is superior to Wegovy and many more have greater success because it acts on two hormones GLP-1 and GIP. I’ve been on all of them and Zepbound took me to the finish line. Two year on them and maintaining 50 lb miss and muscle gain over a year. You can listen to my story on my channel!

I’m on Semaglutide and after the injection I get some redness and itchiness. Is that something to be concerned about?
@GoodDrG
@GoodDrG 10 күн бұрын
Normal. Injection site redness, itching was reported in just about all the GLP 1 trials. No one had to stop because of it. It should not extend past the spot you inject and up to you if it’s worrisome enough to stop all together. It does improve in most patients I have seen in my office.
