Semen retention should be practiced during Kundalini practices and correlating equivalent Taoist practices. After which, it can be discarded as long as it's not excessive.

Blessings. I have been practicing "Chastity" (Having sex but consciously retaining my seeds) for over 15 years now. Abstinence, I was taught ,is often confused with Chasteness. At one point in my life, all of my practices, Martial, Religious, etc...lead me to the same place of Wisdom about Sex and Creation. I realized that one semen has (2 counting Woman's) is incredible source of Creation (Christic in our tradition) and the actual crystallization of Creative Force inside the Human body. A seed can make an entire human yet to the naked eye you see nothing. The same energy we use to make babies on the OUTSIDE we can make babies (Inner Child) on the INSIDE through Alchemical Practices. Once I started doing the work and exploring I starting experiencing many Truths and have continued. This was the Realization about the myth of Internal and External for me. With right practice I feel most True Martial Artists come into more Internal Practices as Higher and Higher Levels of Concentration and Maturity are Developed. Now my Art is mostly to work "On that Plane" and fighting seems like such a waste. Especially, CAGE fighting aka Cock Fighting or Dog Fighting. We've taken out the other factors that developed the ENTIRE HUMAN, Poetry, Calligraphy, Bone-Setting, Meridians, etc. This knowledge creates more balanced people IMHO and is feels more complete to me. Everyone can fight now. So what lol. There's always someone better so why the "Number One Man" ego battle. 20 years from now those folks have broken bodies and brains and still same level of awareness if they haven't done any inner work. So While most of my friends have had Vasectomies, I've able to control myself and only have a child when I wanted to. Vast amounts of energy, less sleep required and able to wake up early and thrive. I've been with my Wife 11 years...never used protection. Before Her, same with my Girlfriend. They appreciated the fact that I took control myself instead of placing EVERYTHING on them. My Wife was able to finally take her IUD out without worry. Gents, we live in a culture that tells you to spill yourself all over the place with movies, vids etc....then tells you to buy Viagra after you destroyed it all. Many folks in Western cultures don't have the discipline to do such practices, but those who do look back to the EAST with Open Eyes of Wisdom. And you begin to look around and see the People who value their Sex and who forsake it and talk about it like trash. Semen is an incredible substance when Liberated by the Fire. Just like an Atom Bomb. The subtle energies are the most powerful it seems. Blessings to anyone who finds this useful. Just sharing my story. Big ups to the Martial Man for digging for the Truth. When the mind goes quiet and starts to observe I've noticed that it can still be on fire. The observing mind still has non verbal patterns, assumptions and judgment. Could Howard talk about this? Is this correct?

Another wonderful interview/lecture here. I especially appreciate the way Master Huai Hsiang Wang explained the difference between internal and external practices as a byproduct of modern day fragmented mind more than a historical tradition. Dogmas and traditions come and go and hopefully some of us will find a way to practice and develop internally before our bodies expire.

Asceticism is also a part of most spiritual practices not simply abstaining more like just gaining control instead of eating the candy bar right away as soon as you feel like eating it wait a while and see how you feel you may not eat it and realize you didn’t need it or you may still choose to eat it but it will be your choice beyond the impulse

I've studied under various masters, black, white, and Asian and they all had families with kids, and they were all outstanding martial artists. I've been practicing since 1986, have wife, full grown kids, and I really don't feel like I've suffered from abstaining from sex. There MAY be benefits, but you gotta live and be happy, and having a family makes me happy.

He makes the claim that celibacy and or abstinence is unhealthy yet there are monks and nuns from multiple spiritual/religious practices who take vows of celibacy or abstinence for there whole entire lives. Not only that but if what he is saying was true then being a monk or a nun would be considered a grave sin but thats not the case according to many different spiritual/religious doctrines

read the book "Taoist Yoga: alchemy and immortality" for details. It's not abstaining - it's transformation. Yes that is the foundation of creating Qi energy or Prana. Celibacy is the key to Qi. Master Nan, Huai-chin is also another good source.

To have sex or not is an individual choice. I'm a Christian and want to save myself anyways. All my teachers were married or had a girlfriend and were at a high level. Higher than most teachers actually. My teachers never told me who to have or not have sex with, what food to eat, what clothing to wear, what job I should have, etc. They just gave me the tools to greater align with God and transform my spirit. And if I had a question about any other those things they'd actually give me the tools to figure out the answer for myself lol.
