I’m loving this painting! Are you using R & F stick when you draw or scribble?
@artistspace10 ай бұрын
Yes I'm a huge R&F pigment stick fan. I use them a ton. In this case, yep the blue scribbles are the pigment sticks.

Hi Andrea! Do you need to seal paintings made with oil and cold wax or is the wax itself doing the job? Beautiful colourful work! ❤
@artistspace10 ай бұрын
Hi Charlotte, this painting is just regular oil, no cold wax at all. But for cold wax you don’t need to varnish or seal them. The wax does it

These are exactly the colors I'm drawn to. I love your painting . But everytime I try, mine doesn't look right. I can make a palette just those colors but I can't seem to make them work. Is there a rule? or a trick? or a percentage of each color? I do watercolor and not oil, so I don't know where im going wrong. I've watched so many videos on color theory but its really not helping. Is it in the mix of cool and warm?

It's a lot of trying things out, developping your eye as you go, doing sketches before you hit the big painting, and building in contrasts between light layers and dark, saturated colors, desaturated ones. There is no trick I promise.

@@artistspace ok thanks maybe work on my contrasts more, all my colors seem to be the same intensity.... I'll keep trying.
