I love that you are working on this but doesn't the fact that that this is semi auto define the rifle as an L98A2 given that is the designation for the spec issued to cadets?
@Echo_MikeАй бұрын
@@eventingcrazy I see what you’re saying, no one knows about the L98 and the cadet rifles don’t have all the external bells and whistles. There for, semi L85.. or EM85 as it will be called

Hi Echo Mike. As a Brit living in Switzerland I am in awe at the L85A2 that you built. Bloody good job matey. I own a number of UK legendary weapons (SLR & Sten MK2S), I would love to get my hands on an L85A2 but they are very rare and extremely hard to buy. I came across your channel by pure chance and after watching just one of your informative and greatly presented and detailed videos I immediately subscribed. You do a great job and it’s so nice to hear an English accent for a change on these gun related sites. Judging by your accent I believe that you have been living in the USA for some time. The give away is the way you pronounce the word “mitigate”…… you pronounce it as “miDigate”!!! 😂. I was also wondering how a Brit living in the UK could possibly have access to all of these guns and shoot outside. I now know why. Keep up the good work and keep these videos coming.

I just want to say how great it is to see such a good channel on this subject come out of the UK. I dont exactly understand if you're resident in the US but I think its important Brits and Europeans affirm themselves and the rights that we all ought to have in such a way. It's refreshing to see since firearms and a militant lifestyle are generally looked down on in the UK and Europe as a whole. Until the need arises for such men and then suddendly everyone begins caring about weather men are martially educated or not. Keep up the good work I think as some other channels have had a bit of a downfall yours can hopefully continue to grow :).

First off, I respect the build. Nice work. Second, the L85 would be better if it had a shorter barrel and a flared mag well. Third, it would be awesome if it were modular, and could be fielded in 7.62 NATO.

I have some old book by month subscription from the 90s, Combat and Survial. It heavily shows British soldiers, which also has this style rifle in a lot of pictures.

BULLPUP ADDICTION RIGHT HERE😂! I give thumbs up on the longer barrel & shorter package than a standard rifle. Anyone crying about a mag change hasn't trained with one & being a civilian, if you can't get it done in 30 rmds😂, you've got bigger problem.

HK was UK-owned and used UK engineers at the time. Don't give too much credence to the german space magic meme. The A1 was just a big enough fuckup from non-firearms engineers that any competent firearm engineer would have been, and was able to fix it

The one advantage of the bullpup design is compactness but still having a standard length barrel. Why does this rifle look so long, like a standard rifle but with none of the advantages of a standard rifle?

I served in the regular British Army and used the L1A1 SLR and then the SA80A1 which was an absolute crap weapon in comparison. HK did a good job on the SA80A2 but at what cost. In my opinion I still would go to war with the SLR anytime over the SA80.
