In a construction zone where lanes are ending you will always be following too close. If you follow at any distance at all a 4 wheeler will cut in front of you and hit their brakes and another 4 wheeler and another 4 wheeler until you are finally passed the merging zone. Construction zones are inherently dangerous because of this.
@George-dy3pt Жыл бұрын
Fact and you have to be extremely careful because you have them insurance scammers in 4 wheelers who try to make you hit them the police is in on it too!
@pcap2700 Жыл бұрын
So true that's why you take both lanes way before the lane ends keep your head on a swivel and make sure they don't get by if your lucky and some driver sees what's going on ahead you can ride side by side till the lane is ending then let the other driver slide in use to see that back in the day not so much anymore cause these drivers today got their head UP THEIR ASSES the stupidity on the roads today just amazes me WAKE UP PEOPLE !

Glad no one was hurt. Dash cam on this truck? Maybe a good educational video. Tough when the other driver was trying to be courteous to 4 wheelers, who for the most part aren't. And I are one

I always stop lightly and let some in. Then when I get going again there is that one cunt that just cannot accept that he was too far behind and squeeze right in front of me causing me to stop again. It's almost always a Mercedes or BMW too.

happened to me the other week 2 lanes in a construction zone and a semi is speeding past everyone in the right lane. semi truck is tailgating a pickup and the pickup slams on his brakes gets out and throws something at the truckers window.

Hey Justin! Glad the driver is okay and i think you made a good choice keeping him. I know so many people that have let drivers go for making a mistake and regret it till this day. He will probably never have another accident like that again. Don't let someone else benefit from what he learned with your company. Good man Justin I know he didn't want to make that call to tell you this. That's the hardest part of the situation ( LOL)... Take care and of course PEACE OUT...

Back in 1986 my family was in the trucking business and my truck was a beautiful 1983 K100 that I ordered for myself. One of our drivers had mechanical problems that I had to take care of so my dad gave him my truck to go up to Canada. This was in February 1986, He ran into a snow storm on the Northway and instead of stopping and waiting it out, he jack knifed and put my truck in the ditch. My dad did not fire him, I wanted him dead but I did not kill him! 3 months later, he did the same thing again on a beautiful sunny day in April on rt. 17 in New Jersey! Same damage as he did to mine. I never saw him again. Some times being a nice guy bites you right in the ass! Both trucks were in the shop at the same time, we had to buy another truck.

I’m so happy that no one is hurt, and loved ur attitude on life. On another perspective, a three seconds rule applies to larger vehicles. Yes, there will always someone pulling into your lane, will so it be. Also, try to see ahead of the vehicle in front of you if you can. It is you driving that large vehicles and take into consideration of unexpected, be prepared. It is your safety and your life depends on it. It could have been worse for your diver and I am so happy that he is okay.

say Justin sounds really fair how you understand your driver's and yes in construction zones car's/pickups seems like they always push the limit of merging to traffic and when trucks hauling loads have to stop suddenly 😳 it does get tough and scary..thanks for being so understanding with driver's i drive trucks for the county and see a lot of traffic trying to merge at the last minute...and I'm sure most all driver's try to stay ahead of the driving traffic trying to judge ahead of situations....you seem really understanding and fair to your worker's...thanks for sharing this video 📹 with us...

Both times while Towing a Vehicle, So when it happened it cost Over Ten Grand in damage the other one wasn’t my fault. Anyway I went with a Coworker to a Bar and Had two beers then had him drop me off at home all the while I was just knowing in my mind I was Fired and I was sick to my stomach for two reasons the main thing was I hated losing his Respect the other was obviously my Family. Been there, wrecked my t800 daycab back in December. Just tagged an suv at a stop sign in freezing rain. Only tapped him at about 2 mph. Hit the brakes, missed the clutch and the engine powered straight thru the brakes. Only bent my bumper, but crinkled that poor suv on the back corner.

Accidents happen. Company I work at just finished restoring / daycabing a older highway 379 that was in a wreck. ( they become local trucks when highways days are done on the old rigs) Probablly put 40k into doing so and next day after being completed a new driver forgot to set his brakes and got out and it rolled forward into a steel trailer and wrecked the whole front end. They gave him another 379 and said get to work & re fixed the wrecked rig. Guy quit a week later.. idiot !

As A Semi truck driver for over 33 yrs I've seen it all and I've had to deal with every scenario a million times but the fact is 4 wheelers don't respect Semi's nor do they care and always want to play the victim and I've been in Court testifying or do a depiction and not one time have I been found liable and I'm not a speeder and have 4 wheelers cut me off and flip me off because they get mad I'm not doing what they think I should do and I don't get worked up or even pay attention to them because it can turn ugly real fast and I'm not the one if anyone opens my door and will end the situation in a second and let my attorney do all the talking in Court.

you should have cameras, its unreal how many drivers are on their phones when they have accidents, you can see the reflection in the glass of the windshield, being self insured the footage might save you from liable or it could make you at fault, replace the fan hub if it starts throwing belts after you get it fixed, many times it bends the stub and is barely bent but enough to toss the belt off. with pulling the engine at least you can fix the oil leaks, lol for a bit, the frame fuel filters should be a 1212 number if not your starving your engine for fuel and causing low power, the 1000 1001 and so on are for cummins engines that have a better gear pump

looks like that truck would be a perfect candidate for a full frame off resto now and if the frame is in good shape then it would be alot cheaper to just find a cab and hood from salvage and replace instead of trying to pull those corners back out of that one but idk im just thinking out loud...or get a savaged truck and take all the good stuff off of it and put into another truck but i guess either way their is no real sure way to do it... too much good bones in it to scrap it out.... looking forward to the rebuild... and still looking for the areo sleeper truck project... could this possible be the perfect project for that ???
