Hey! Can you share who you bought your Verrucusum from? I saw your update video as well! It’s beautiful🤩🤩🤩

I think they increased their prices 3x so not sure if I would recommend them since it didn’t come in the best condition 🙁. Etsy or some Facebook groups may have them, if you’re in a big city you might be able to find a rare houseplant group to buy locally! Thank you! It’s not thriving as much as before but still okay!

Thanks for watching! I let it go semi dry like the dirt has the sliggghtest moisture to it but not bone dry. This if if you stick your finger in the dirt about 1-2 inches.

I liked your video. Thanks for sharing. I noticed you gave the store of every plant except the Silver Band Prayer plant I really wanted to know where you got that one.🦋

Thanks for watching 🙂 I got it from Steve’s Leaves online. I don’t think they go back in stock that often and they sell out fast but you can sign up for an email notification. I also see some cuttings on Etsy right now but there’s always more of a risk buying cuttings instead of rooted plants. I was able to root a stem that I accidentally broke off from my main plant in water and just potted it in soil.

Can you give us an update on the verrucosum?

Plant haul Hey there! The new leaf is the same size (small) but darkened in color. Another sprout came out from that stem so it’s slowly growing. Hopefully it will be a larger one 🤞🏼Update video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWSQl5Vpht-maNE

Have you seen the price of a ‘Silver Band Maranta’ in the uk? …. Shocking!

Mine are growing fairly quickly so hopefully people can propagate over there and sell more often to drive prices down! 🤞

I’ve actually seen the curtisii at a Home Depot in the bay area once. I passed it up and regretted it ever since!

Bummer! Hopefully it will show up again! I think they have a good return policy on plants so maybe if you see something you're not sure about you can buy it and return it later if you have buyer's remorse? I feel you, something similar, I bought a "rare" plant online and a couple days later it was at a local nursery for a 3rd of the price 😭 .

How much do you water the begonia? Just got one and need to know if you water when when it’s slightly damp, or completely dry?

I recently bought a peacock begonia, and I was wondering if you have any tips or updates concerning their care?

Thanks for watching! I have had it for about 5 months and it’s growing pretty well. I took it out of the aquarium tank since it was outgrowing it and now it’s near the ground in front of a north facing window and it seems to be doing fine without the tank (almost no crispy edges). Lower light (ex. not a south facing window) is supposed to help it keep the blue iridescence. I keep a humidifier in the room and spray it daily with a light mist without drenching the leaves (though apparently that’s not supposed to help much). I don’t know the exact humidity of my room but San Francisco summers aren’t very hot and I would say humidity is pretty mild so I think my room can stay humid enough. A pebble tray under it might help too. Not sure how much experience you have with plants but I let the soil dry out until it’s only slightly damp before watering again and make sure your pot has drainage (feeling the soil one inch into the dirt). I boil my water and put aquarium treatment in it to remove chlorine etc. I think humidity is important with this one. This is working for me but I’m sure it has a lot to do with the conditions of where you live. Good luck!

Yeah I got lucky with a lot of patience and hunting! Had to pay for shipping too though and spent many months trying to nurse it back to health but it was worth it! 🙂
