My favorite topic! For element 120, it will take about 3 months of bombarding 249Cf with 50Ti to get one atom of element 120 at the best current facilities.

As amazing as it would be to achieve ground-state g electrons, and how it is always great to discover new elements, part of me kind of hopes that we never do simply because the periodic table is perfect now with 118 elements. Every row is completely full, and it just looks beautiful like that. Maybe we shouldn't mess with that? (-:

I really hope they find a way get the magic neutron number in Flerovium and maybe get an Isotope that has a very long half life so you can actually see it with your own eyes ❤

I often imagine how radioactive a gram of those big boy elements would be say darmstadtium, roentgenium or oganesson.

You are lucky if you have 2 or more Rf Atoms at the same time in the lab xD as it takes 60s to produce one Atom and the half-life is 70s 😬

What is the definition of a g,g nucleus?
@SimonsNuclearchemistryАй бұрын
A nucleus with a even number of protons and an even number of neutron. G comes from the german Word "gerade" meaning even and it somehow found its way even into some International literature :D
