Hey everybody! Today we'll be building a PVC bow inspired by the Seminole Indians in Florida. I've been getting a lot of requests for Native American styled bows and recently a good friend of mine asked for this particular style, so here it is! The bow is made of a 44" long schedule 40, 3/4" PVC pipe. It draws about 40-45 pounds at 28 inches, but it does best at about 35-40 pounds at 26 inches.
In this video we'll build the main bow including flattening, shaping the handle, and tapering the tips. I've left the flattening process for one limb full-length so you can see how long it actually takes me to heat a bow limb. It took about 10 minutes to completely flatten the bow with cooling times included.
Stay tuned, the other parts will be up soon.
Thanks for watching and enjoy!
