This senator was bringing up a local issue and pretending a memo Garland put out on a totally different and Federal issue pertained to the school issue, and it didn't. But that senator's purpose, whoever he is, was to grandstand, bring up all kinds of different topics and go back and forth to confuse us all, and leave it to people to grasp at anything in there that caught their attention and think Garland was against it. It was just a show and he just wanted to appear like he was angry for a reason. He wasn't. We would all stand up for our children. Garland would also. It’s a good point. I guess my response would be that compromise is essential to the survival of a democratic Republic by design. No one gets exactly what they want in any governed society, and we have seemingly forgotten that. The founding fathers knew this and (at least some of them) warned against the proliferation of the political parties and correctly predicted their destructive nature. While there may still be an objective right and wrong decision on each issue, it’s undoubtedly a spirit of compromise that makes a society functional, healthy, and in for the long haul.

Do u kno anything about his time as Chief Judge for DC Circuit of Appeals? He was one of the most respected federal judges for both sides of the aisle. That’s y Obama picked him when Scalia passed & there was a GOP majority senate. Tom Cotton is just scoring PR points here for his planned presidential run. Garland was actually very respected as a federal judge and former federal prosecutor. He is known for his work on successful prosecutions of domestic terrorists in the 1990s. Cotton is just muddling facts here intentionally for PR. Cotton generally likes to be cruel bout his comments. Garland never even got a hearing for his SC nom.
