Sendai's Akiu Great Falls Experience 秋保大滝

Sendai is much bigger than the city center. Like Tokyo, the city goes far into the countryside and Sendai has some very beautiful places like this one, Akiu Great Falls, a 55 meter high waterfall that is one of Japan's top 100, only a 30 min trip from Central Sendai.

at first I was like "wtf 8 hours?!?!?" then I noticed its minutes. Really unusuall to have a Vid below 1 hour BUT it is refreshing and I for one actually prefer "several short ones" then one super long vid as its really hard to watch and concentrate several hours in one go.

Had to check out the list. Apparently this one is number 10. Seems like waterfall haven't been my biggest priority when planning routes in Japan. The highest on the list that I've visited is Ryūsei-Ginga-no-taki. Although the initial plan was to hike from Asahidakeonsen to Souunkyouonsen, it was a bit late in the season and we didn't bring any snow climbing equipment so we abandoned that plan and went by bus. Also took quite a bit of time but the views were nice. I was hoping to find Shousenkyou in Yamanashi on the list and indeed Senga-taki is there. Can highly recommend that spot esp. in autumn. And I found out that there are some more waterfalls to visit. Might try to do it whenever travelling is possible again. The list seems to be ordered by location not anything else. (At least on the German wiki article.)
