I live in Alberta, Canada, and we have massive forest fires right now. I have a question, because of all the smoke, the sun is a red color. I took my binoculars out may 20 and looked at the red sun and I saw a huge rectangular black object on the left side of the sun and above to the right saw a line of black Grey circles in a row. I am in central Alberta, and it was maybe 7 pm, looking west? Does anyone have an explanation for this. I observed it two days in a row.

The sun color will change according to the atmospheric conditions on earth because of the light refraction. I am not really sure your observatory time and method but the black spots occur on the surface of the sun are mostly the sun spots. It's because of extremely strong magnetic pressure of the sun's certain regions.

@alicemay4861 I know what sunspots are and what shape they should be. I have never heard of a nearly square spot. I saw several gray circles which problem were probably spots but the completely black rectangle was not normal. The sun toned down the sun so it could be looked at through regular cheap binoculars.

@@LawofMoses Okay. If I am correct, the circles around the sun would be sun halos. As you mentioned, there were some smoke so the light is refracted through it. Well, about the rectangle or nearly squared shapes on the sun, (I think) since the sun is rotating itself, the forces may stretch out and resulting those kinds of shape.

The sun also produces water in Earth's atmosphere by ionizing oxygen atoms in Earth's atmosphere. The sun's plasma contains free floating protons and electrons that can attach to the ionized oxygen in Earth's atmosphere. Higher energy electrons can break the bonds of lower energy electrons.

I still fail to understand why this probe is not melting. I have listened to different explanations, but still cannot get it. The Solar wind can easily get to the back of the Parker probe and burn those instruments. Why doesn't that happen? How does that 20°C temperature maintained?

@@keptinjack There are only 3 countries in the world that use the imperial system: the US, Liberia and Myanmar. Adding their populations together (which equals 397,565,200 using numbers from Wordometer) and finding the percentage of that against the world population (8,037,764,520 according to Worldometer) gives us approx 4.9% of the world population that understands and uses the imperial system. So, it's more accessible if the metric system is used because a larger part of the population understands it.

Moreover, it has not been repeated, which is very odd given the fact that NASA repeats its space experiments. It is only until 2024, and look to the tests they have done and the cancelations so far as if it's not been done before while it's supposed the technology in this field has been developed since the 70s!! There are lot of factors that make us doubt about that event! On the other hand, all what you have are mockery and the official report from NASA!

Rocket science is not sci-fi, so going to the moon is just a big math problem yet still achievable back in the 70s. Also wouldn't you think that Soviet would be the first one to disprove USA's achievements. What stopped from NASA doing apollo missions is because of money. It's getting more expensive at the same time doesn't benefit USA that much anymore.
