A pet is an addition to the family for the extent of their lives. It’s a commitment to care for them through thick and thin, and not toss them away like a used toy. I’m very happy with my elderly piggy(and his younger piggy friend, both are rescues). He’s around seven years old, has cataracts and a benign inoperable tumour, but he’s one of my babies, he’s otherwise in good health, and I do my best to help him to stay nice and comfy in his elder years.

Oh wow 7 is pretty old, that's wonderful! Sometimes the older ones are total characters cause they can be grumpy and fussy or bossy and it's an absolute delight to have them.

I am a new piggy mom. I didn't want one but my son rescued it from an awful home where he was very neglected. And I am a sucker for unloved animals. I took him for a check up today and he checked out in very good health. He did get eye drops for a crusty eye but Dr said it was probably from a get pock. He did say in his 30 years he has never seen a pig run for the owner and his under my chin. He said he has never seen a piggie love the owner like that. And it made him happy to see me love my baby so much. I found it sad that some people don't love their babies. What he didn't do was check his stuff like you do. I need to make an appointment to have you check all that and he needs a piggie partner. I do have to wait until after we are back from our passover . My hubby only wants to truck one across America.

I adopted two little guys about 3 months ago. Both are about 12mths old and were from hoarding situations. One little man has severely torn up ears from being crammed in a tiny room with over a hundred other pigs and has bad ongoing fungus issues in his mouth 😢. Nothing has really helped so far, but I’m finding the longer he’s in a good home with proper food, it’s slowly healing and looking better. He’s been on 2 antibiotics, pain/anti inflammatory meds and different creams. I’m just hoping it clears up for good 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

It makes me angry when people plan to put down their animals just cause their sick of them. Shows a complete lack of morality and responsibility. There's so many ways to rehome a pet, but they choose just to kill it. People like that shouldn't have pets at all. Good thing people like you are there to save those poor animals.

I'm sadly not that surprised about this. My oldest cat turns 15 in two weeks and he has mild hyperthyroidism. Nothing major and relatively easy and cheap to treat and he is overall still a very healthy cat. People still already told my mom(where he lives) to just put him up for adoption or put him down because he costs more money than a young cat. My mom told them to kindly fuck off, she is getting older too and she isn't put down or put in a care home just yet either. His meds cost about 100€ a year plus two check ups for his blood levels which is another around 40€ all together. We adopted him when he was 4 because his old owner didn't want him anymore. We promised him that we would be his last home and we will keep that promise. Said old owner had far too many different animals after him and kept none of them for very long and it just makes me angry but we can't do anything about that sadly. At least our Teddy is happy and safe.

Hi Saskia it would be lovely If you could answer my question about my piggie. My piggie Max (girl) has recently developed a small hard lump under her belly close to her nipple. She is certainly on the chubbier side and I have a suspicion that is could possibly be a fatty lipoma. I haven’t spoken to a vet yet but I believe they would recommend surgery as a cure but as you mentioned in previous videos anesthesia is risky in small animals. It would wonderful for you if you could give me more info on this as I love my piggie very very much. She has a cage mate who has a large ovarian cyst. Do you think that medicine you mentioned in the video will help with her pain with the cyst as the metacam she’s on doesn’t seem to be doing much. I also she suspect she may have impaction as when she poops she looks in pain. Btw. Both of them are 4 years old. Please help!
