While in a text message press and hold the # and you can get the T9 features

Turn on T9 typing to speed up texting. It'll try to guess the word that you are trying to make. If for whatever reason T9 texting is not possible (it is an option in the phone). You can push space. You don't have to wait.

Mostly OK ....a few glitches ...like having to turn it off and on again to clear recent calls or messages . Much better than the Verizon flip

I just got one and I already hate it. I can't add new contacts.

Do the instructions not explain how to do this? I’m considering getting one, in addition to the iPhone I already have, because I have found a smartphone can be very distracting & actually addictive, especially with social media and KZbin. I have tablets (iPad Mini and Kindles), and can send text messages and emails with those. I’m trying to use my iPhone less, and a simple flip phone could help with this.

You want contacts? Get the souped up version (like I just sent back). All you get is some prompt for contacts. Contacts, Contacts, CONTACTS! You can't even change the time/date or get a prompt to change to a ring tone. The one they sent me only did viberation - couldn't even set it for a ringtone. Stupidest thing I ever saw. Pfft!

Hearing someone who just placed their phone on speaker and are transmitting that signal to you to listen to on your phone has never been a good transmission even with the most expensive phones . Listening to your own phone play through speakers is not the same thing as transmitting through air waves to a different phone. Never trust a salesman to tell you the truth.

Just ordered one. I just want a phone that gets and makes PHONE calls. PERIOD. It's a phone! And not something that weighs a ton and falls out of my pocket, or when it rings and I pick it up a bunch of useless junk comes up on the screen and I can't answer the call. When I wanna look at P@>nH*b or something (like grampa here prolly does), I fire up my laptop which is HDMI'd to my 55" flat panel TV; I get dirty movie quality, theater size in muh own living room. Why squint to see the sexy details?
