My attempt at making Senko Hanabi. Not perfect but works pretty good. Special thanks goes out to KnightHawkLight for his work in this area. His videos on the subject were indispensable in my success.

Thank you for your support and showing the proper way to do it. After failing and not getting one to work…. After all of that, watching and listening to you. I finally had a successful one

Good job! You had a good result. From 2:00 to 3:00 when you are rolling the head you should keep a tight grip with your left hand. Keep your left thumb pinched on the paper until the head is fully formed. That will help it form a tight pellet in the paper.

That was beautiful. I always thought that hanabi mix is made with lampblack

there are different sources of lamp black theses days. The original form was made from burning fatwood, which is a pine wood that is very high in resin and collecting the soot. What I am using is cork charcoal as my carbon source (ball milled makes a very fine carbon source). Not all lamp black is suitable for Senko Hanabi.

Dont know what my lampblack is made from. I will try it out with that. And I have hemp charcoal. Maybe it works

@@geniusgauravsharma that’s the problem. Must be made from 100% real cork. The resulting charcoal is of different character than charcoal made of hard to medium type of woods.
