My husband bought me this exact set for a combo Mother’s Day/Anniversary/my Birthday gift (all of which are in May)! 🎁 I have to start playing as he wants a picture of a forest with a path from me soon. 🎨👍🏻

@@johnhoffmanpaintings8512 I had the Portrait set from a few years back, fell in love with them, they are the best! I’m now also into oil pastels and just got a complete set of Sennelier oil pastels, (was saving for them for a while!) they are like lipstick, so soft so fun! I’m really enjoying this channel. 👍🏻🎨

I just passed here, and saw that there was a video of you, showing the umboxing of Senelier pastels, by the way they are very good, but they are expensive. But, the truth is that I really enjoyed seeing your artwork, I loved it! and the light green colors, wow! they are amazing! Thank you for sharing this umboxing!

Amazing video. I sat here with a smile of joy on my face watching it. The pastels are beautiful so many lovely colours and great quality by the look of them. Your picture is fantastic and I loved watching how it came together. Do you ever use oil pastels

It always amazes me how different pastel artists' work is. Same materials, but totally different techniques and finished work. There really is no one way to use soft pastels!

So true Elizabeth. I am always trying different approaches to this fabulous medium. Although at the moment sometimes when i get the camera rolling I forget how to paint lol. Thank you for watching and especially leaving a comment.

@@johnhoffmanpaintings8512 😅I would be the same way if I was painting in front of a camera! The exciting thing about this medium is that you really can develop your own style. It's just having the creative fortitude to trust that process!

I want this set so badly. I'm new to your channel so do you have a video on how you prepare the watercolor paper and prep with the clear gesso?
@johnhoffmanpaintings85122 жыл бұрын
You won't go wrong with this set, they are beautiful. Funny you should mention prepping the surface. I am just sorting out filming making a few different surfaces to use pastel on. Hope you are enjoying my content. And thank you for commenting.

@@johnhoffmanpaintings8512 I hope so, I’ve never used Pastels before. I also ordered a sample set of Terry Ludwig. Look up the Sennelier Pebble. Your art is AMAZING too…! Sorry, I forgot to mention that last time, I was too excited.

SO cool... Did you use the Winsor Newton Clear Gesso to attach the black paper to the board? I know it’s on top of the paper... just wondering if you used a spray to attach, or was the foam core itself black? Thanks. Love twisted mossy tree. First time viewer. Keep cranking the pastel paintings out! Also, what color or number is the lighter reflective blue in the reflection? That Paris collection is gorgeous! Great job!
@mendyhand38953 жыл бұрын
Foam ore black? Thx!
@johnhoffmanpaintings85123 жыл бұрын
@mendyhand Thank you for watching and enjoying 😀 I used gorilla pva glue to attach the paper to the foam board then applied the gesso when dry. The blue number if I remember is 732 . I agree this set is beautiful. Today I put a post on my Instagram showing the easel tray I made for this set. Happy pasteling 🙂

Nice ,they are great pastels . I love sennelier .but why you call them sienna ?your viewers will not know what you mean . Everyone search them as sennelier
@johnhoffmanpaintings85122 жыл бұрын
Glad you pointed that out. I think that was me not proof reading and missing predictive text imputing sienna instead. Thank-you for watching my video
