OK so I review these having never known the actual price. This is an AMAZING example of what I would love to do with every product. Judge it for its performance/features and only its performance/features. THIS IS THE REALEST REVIEW I HAVE EVER MADE and it is all thanks to my incompetence and sheer will to make content. So what does this mean? Either I am not impressed to the $1k mark with these or the MoonDrop Kanas are simply that good.

I have the Andromeda and was planning to get the IE800s. Would you recc anything on the IE800s over the Andromeda? I have only heard the IE800 and I loved the shimmery treble and the DD bass response but hated how thin the overall presentation was, specially the recessed midrange. The Andromeda has a typical BA bass and timbre which feels un-natural at times if u hear a well tuned hybrid iem or a DD iem doing an A/B with an all BA set. Although the Andromeda sounds perfect and really big and spacious, the IE800 sounded a little more real!

Obviously, there's a big difference between the IE800/IE800S & ie80/ie80s... not sure why Z was comparing IE800/S and the ie80/s in the same review making things somewhat confusing with the different models/names. The all new [completely Black colored IEM & cable] IE800S are still not detachable, but do come with 2 additional balanced cables [2.5 & 4.4mm - $999] using the same Y split as the original IE800 I've owned the IE800 for a couple of yrs now & really like them for their small size & sound. Since I do have small ear canals, these are so comfortable & perfect for me... surely, the ear tips would be best if they were non-proprietary like most out there, but that's a compromise I can live with.

The ie800s need to be listened to with tips that fits loosely in your ears, not with comply foam tips, that makes them sound like you are listening under water. The bass is buttery beautifully great! and the details you get with these gems is superb! They pick up high end cymbal sounds. Listen to the monkees daydream believer, the ie800s pick up the alarm sounds like no other iem. If it is a good recording it is remarkably great! how these bad babies sound. They sound far better than 200 dollar iems, that statement was an absurdity! they have an incredible frequency response of (8-41,000 Hz (-3db), 5-46,500 Hz (-10 I own the ie800 gems and more than highly recommend them. I have had them for three wonderful years and they are still going strong.

@@chetsmith9676 Atlas is the iem by Campfire Audio that is dubbed to be the perfect alternative to the IE800. It pretty much thrashes the IE800 if u A/B them, although the bass on the Atlas is pretty overcooked. But on every other parameter be it Soundstage, imaging, depth and width as well as coherency, the Atlas blows the IE800 away into oblivion. Not sure how the IE800s fares among the other 2 though. All of them are pretty much priced in the same realm of things.

I wouldn't pay 100$ for these, let alone a grand. These IEMs have a very dumb design flaw: The cable only detaches from the middle and not completely from the IEMs, if the IEM cable frays and breaks close to the soldier point (Which is not that uncommon.) You just lost 1k unless you can replace the cable by sending it to someone who can fix it. The other IEM I've seen with this counterintuitive design is the Klipsch x20. Detachable cables mean fuck all if it doesn't completely detach from the IEMs!

The t2 stands absolutely no chance. The t2 is great fo the price but the ie800 has way better sound.

90% of this cheap chinese crap stand no chance to the products like this, made by a company with history, many years of research etc. There is no fucking way they can jump like this and create a product for 1/10 of a price which is same quality. Wake up people. The good quality chinese iems cost over 800 dol and more, like ibasso it07. These are compareble.

Shit propriety ear buds, shit cable, shit ear fitting, shit choice of ear buds, shit case, shit lots and lots of things. 99 times out of 100 these are shit and a total rip off. But that one time you can get a good seal (personal thing of course), they are stunning. But thats a ridiculous thing that you pay so much for.

If I will be getting the SHP9500 should I buy a amp and dac combo or just a dac since it is not that power hungry?
@Elusive_Chicken
@Elusive_Chicken 5 жыл бұрын
You can't power headphones with a standalone dac. A dac/amp isn't necessary for shp9500. It doesn't make a big difference, especially since you probably have a low budget, if you get the shp.

Z, Beyerdynamic DX160ie also does the cable Y-split adapter, but uses the larger 3.5mm plug, but came out 2 years after the Sennheiser IIRC. Don't review it. It's hot garbage. Huge failure rates with incurable driver-flex, housings are bulky, sharp-edged and painfully uncomfortable. Just don't.

Normie af. Let's be honest, these are for rich people who don't want the best sound for the money, because that's geeky. They want to throw money at super exclusive "earbuds", which is technically wrong and so are these.

What a waste of money. Even $100-200 full size headphones sound better than the IE800. I'd rather look silly wearing full size headphones than pay $1000 for an inferior product.

I tried the IE800 recently and while I wouldn't call it a bad product it is hideously over priced. I thought it would be an excellent $200 IEM.

oh really i have them and bought them almost 6 months ago. Everytime i put them i stay impressed with them, everything is crystal clear, and you have to listen to them with high res music files. tell me 1 iem that is better then the ie800 below 1000$.

@@rafael6693 Yea they're totally full of shit. EVERYONE knows how good the IE 800 are, just stunning quality across the board with them. Are they worth $1000 no, few things are, but used or super sale hell yea they are, absolutely stunning audio quality on these things.

@@hdtv00 i bought mine from audiosancturay for 520€ +- they were on discount last christmas. sometimes people say this iems are overpriced and they are. but probably some of this people that think this are the same people that bought a 1000€ iphone two month ago and they lost in the club or broke it because they are careless and the phone is always falling from their hands. i know a person that has bought some expensive iems 10 years ago and they are still working great. i think that what things are worth, also depends on the value you want to give.
