Senri is so very good. She never misses a beat nor does she over do it or crowd the other musicians. She is one of my very favorite drummers..
@EMTdrummer9 жыл бұрын
This young woman is about as good as it gets. I have watched many of her videos and she can play anything with any hand or any foot for that matter. She can tone it down at will, but most of us could never reach her speed and accuracy. To me, just a marvel to watch.
@jaydoode159 жыл бұрын
EMTdrummer a lot of practice will fix that, clearly she has the time to devote herself to drumming seeing as she is being looked at as a prodigy. However, if you can break down what she is doing you will notice it is not incredibly technical or extremely hard to do, it is just that she is very accurate in her approach. If you practice those kinds of fills consistently you too will reach her abilities.
@jaydoode159 жыл бұрын
***** She is fantastic no doubt, and a pleasure to watch. But again, there isn't too much about her playing that has me rewinding over and over again to figure her out. Ronald Bruner Jr. has me doing that, but I won't compare beyond that.
@chriswilliams23059 жыл бұрын
+jaydoode15 - why must she be compared to anyone? I mean, she is a pretty good drummer in her own right. pretty incredible actually. I go way back to Billy Cobham, Nrada Michael Walden, Neil Pert, and many other greats and I don't compare them. they're all great in different ways. I just enjoy listening to them and appreciate their talents. you can't deny that she's very talented and definitely has that it thing that defines great drummer and musicians in general. I, personally, don't compare her to anyone. I just really enjoy watching and listening her play
@jaydoode159 жыл бұрын
Chris Williams Yes, and that's how it should be. I only briefly compared her to Ronald Bruner Jr. because he absolutely nuts behind the kit, what Kawaguchi is doing I am able to understand right away as she is doing it for the most part, some of what Ronald Bruner Jr. does has my mind boggled. But art is subjective and we all have different tastes, we all approach things differently and we have different styles. I am drifting from my point made earlier in this thread, and that is that no one should be discouraged from thinking that they'll never be able to play like this, we should be empowered and wanting to learn more.

She does make me think of Neil Pert. Her fills are spot on and still subtle. Very nice indeed!!!

@RayyMusik6 жыл бұрын
Frankly, I find Kanade Sato musically more mature, despite she‘s even 5 years younger. It makes more sense to me what she plays. Senri K. just seems to play solo regardless of the music around her. And sometimes her timing isn’t as tight as that of the true masters.

I believe the measure of a great drummer is not to lead a band but to play off of other band members and lead from behind and to do the fills where needed. Senri is more than capable of leading from behind or in front. Good call on the Billy Cobham reference. If she has heros like that she will go far. Amazing!! She can play soft and hard when needed.

@drummist10006 жыл бұрын
i think it does. because i think things would have been a little tougher for her actually BEING a girl.. she has gone through more of an ordeal than a guy would, and my god look what came out. i guess her age has nothing to do with it either. she is this good at this age.that should be acknowledged. the fact that she's asian, I'm not sure about that one.ive been watching her videos through the years and seen her grow so confident, speed accuracy,sticking, flame,rimshot,cymbal work. SHE is an awesome GIRL drummer.

Really, best in the world? Have you heard Gavin Harrison, kirk Covington, dave Weckyl, Anika Nilles, and many more? I'd take any of those in a heartbeat over this youngster. You may be too easily swayed by her youth. The artistic content is still very rough with her but if you can't tell then I can't convince you. it's a matter of taste.

I hope those guys are getting paid well. Because she’s soloing all the way through those songs, as awesome as she is, she’s really up in the mix and playing for herself. I’ve seen many drum icons playing with bands and they respect the dynamics of the songs, giving rests, and space for other musicians to shine too. This is waaaay overpowering. Before you attack me as is the norm on KZbin, it’s just my ducking opinion. (Deliberate typo)
