There's no better music for exercising and workouts than recorded traditional Japanese Taiko drumming live sessions.

It’s a wonderful sight to see traditions are being passed down to the next generations. It takes a lot of strength and training to play these particular drums. I see a great appreciation in their faces.

For the people who don’t know how these drums are made. They come from hundreds of yer old particular trees and the skins are hand strung and is tightened by hand without any machines

A memorable departure from Nagasaki - I captiured about 10 mins of this myself and must have been standing a few feet from you on the deck of Aurora (on 9 March 2013). I took about 3 hrs in total of video of the cruise from Sydney to Southampton and subsequently edited down to about 40mins and burnt to BluRay - still enjoy watching it.

Hi, what a coincidence! We did not know what to expect when those kids came out, but weren't they impressive. We joined the cruise in New Zealand, and left at Hong Kong. I expect you had longer on board. Did you get off at Papua New Guinea? That was like a different world. I never found out the name of the taiko drummers, did you? It's my most popular video on KZbin, at 2.6m views to date!

Too bad it's dying. Every culture is dying culture. I pity my grandsons who will have to live in an increasingly homogeneous world. Well at least many form of cultural art had been documented. Who knows hundreds years later it may become popular again haha.
@Kasumi877911 жыл бұрын
Fajar Anugraha It's not completely dying. Many old instruments are still learned in Japan
@minerdalta11 жыл бұрын
Kasumi97 Yea, but it's a tiny, weeny minority. And most of it is old people, i bet. The youngs are too fixated on pop. So when the old dies, the tiny weeny minority declines to be tiny weeny, bitsy minority. So sad.
@Kasumi877911 жыл бұрын
Fajar Anugraha It's not only the old people. There are many popular Japanese "Folk Metal" bands that mix Pop and Metal with Traditional style music that many young people listen to. And it's not only a tiny tiny minority, as there are still many oriental towns in Japan, that may never be modernised

@hansvanmourik65329 жыл бұрын
+Hans van Mourik just saw your reply sorry. i see it like this: if the ego will be addressed over a certain longer period of apprenticeship in combination with this style of drumming the drumming will become deeper in more ways .. but for that a specific schooling is needed as there are not many teachers to address such an issue in combination with whatever they practice on the side of the drumming itself.
