What if I said sorry as I pushed the one? I would save 5 and would feel better cuz I apologized to the one I sacrificed.

Honestly I’d probably try to save the five somehow if I was physically able to react. Take that option away and let me answer from a keyboard this hypothetical-It would likely come down to ages and a quick read of the people involved to make the best decision strictly on cruel logic…but it would likely have to be some sort of extreme ranges or physically apparent health deficiencies to make the call to act…but no matter what it is something that would haunt you for years i imagine, short of it being the embodiment of evil or a short list of horrific excuses for a human being in this world responsible for countless past, and ongoing, crimes against humanity…in fact, any way we can get five of them to line up on the rails?

Your comment really highlights the complexity of the trolley problem. It's a philosophical thought experiment that forces us to grapple with difficult ethical dilemmas, and real-life decisions can certainly be even more complex when we consider factors like age, health, and individual character. It's also true that such a decision, even in a hypothetical scenario, can have a profound emotional impact. Everyone seems to have a slightly different response to it. Thanks for yours!

Why do we even have to participate in this game. It’s so not fair. But who is making it not fair? Me? Or the guy in the mountain with all the gold?

That argument sucks. I would feel more guilty letting five people die. A psychopath I think would just walk away
