Steel wool and peppermint will keep the mice at bay. If you don’t have caulk stuff steel wool into some of those cracks and large spaces. They don’t like it. They don’t like peppermint either. Take those left over candy canes, break them up and place them in places where you would put decon or some other poison. Lots safer for pets and children. Great video. Thanks

Something else very useful is a good stapler. Combined with the trash bags it's a quick way to temporarily fix a leaking roof, a broken window or even build an entire shelter in the woods. You can also staple together joints on wooden objects like a drawer that's falling apart or fabricate wooden frames for whatever purpose.

Easy plug and play you can build your own system for 4-7K buy 7 modules online and save half the cost on a used 3000Watt Inverter. If you buy good real reliable products in the first place they last longer than your conventional cheaper products. Example shoes spend $100 or more on a good pair of shoes or boots like keen. I am very very very hard on shoes boots whatever and those last the longest like two years, so spend the money on products but actually hold true so you can be more prepared for the long term.

I always recommend getting a very good shotgun for back up self defense. Reason being, if you have a good fighting shotgun it’s super cheap compared to rifles to stock up a bunch of good defensive ammo. I like to have a good back up option. Plus you can get 12 ga anywhere. I also recommend slugs too. Reason being, I always think worst case scenario all the time and if I’m loaded up with buck shot, I can’t make a precision shot if I needed to. Nobody can. It’s impossible to control where all your lead goes with buck shot. But I do have buck shot as well obviously because it is a very very viable option.

For anyone interested or those who have the money 3M DT17 duct tape is a tape ive used in industrial settings. Its an all weather, indoor, outdoor tape that never budges amd those who work in industrial, hvac, or telecom know what im talking about. Then there's also 3m 3979 duct tape which is contactor grade duct tape and in my personal opinion the gorilla tape he mentions is the only thing that comes close.

Car batteries are junk for solar. You could use marina deep cell batteries. Flexible panels are junk and might last as long as 5 years. Glass surface, metal frames regular panels last at least 25 years. I love Harbor Freight panels for a cheap emergency set up. The amorphous panels they use pick up even the allest amount of light/sun power than any other panels. But they only come in 25 or 10 or 100 watt powers. I've had mine for 7 years and they are still in great shape. But use a better mmpt controller and not the pwm that comes with the kits. Midnight invertors are great but expensive. ? Epever China version are pretty good but not expensive.

Car batteries work with solar setups they just have low amp hours (usually 60ah) which means you need much more batteries for a decent amount of ah. For reference: we have 4x 120ah. For panels, we just matched wattage with the Inverter so even when the batteries die we have power during sunlight, but you can use ohm's law to figure out exactly how many watts you need at 20v charging

PVC cement is another item with a short shelf life, even when unopened. Don't store more than you will use in a year or so, and rotate out fequently. Once you open a can, store it upside down. That will seal any small leaks around the lid for max storage life. And, NO, you can't reconstitute old glue by mixing in some fresh primer, no, no, no.

It depends on the circumstances. The closer the better. Your ability to get together to help each other is what matters. In most dire circumstances that could mean walking. The other consideration even with vehicles is your ability to get across the terrain/traffic congestion. If you intend to bug in your best team would ideally be your neighbors/neighborhood. If you are planning on evac to a prepared site you want members to be people with a realistic route/means to get there. It does not matter how great Frank is if he never shows up. I would say a good guide would be to try to keep members in the same quadrant outside a major metro area within an hours walk if possible.
