9000 Lumens is equivalent to 3 suns. It's so strong that you can shine it on someone and see all of their bones. If your power goes out you can use this flashlight on your bread to make toast. If you need to repair something this flashlight also works as a welder. You can also point this at the moon to make it a full moon anytime you want. Great at parties.

Another awesome review. A few years back I purchased the Nitecore TM11. It is the same size and format as this light, but with only 2000 lumens. That being said, at max power the light gets to hot to handle after a few minutes. I was wondering if these newer models have fixed that issue?

123 cells are found in most stores including Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, your local drug store etc. They are common for use in cameras and other devices. They are Lithium based cells and so have a shelf life exceeding ten years. Here's a link to Duracell for some more information on the subject. They can be labeled "CL123, DL123, EL123, etc. They are all the same size but may have differing capacities. In case you're wondering why I wrote "Cells" and not "Battery's" it's because "Batteries" are constructed of more than one "Cell." The 123 series of cells are 3 volts nominal each. If you put four in series you'd have a 12 volt battery. You'll notice that a car battery has 6 cells in it. They are a series circuit of 2 volt nominal cells which gives you the 12 volt battery moniker. Oh, that little 9 volt battery you have; if you take it apart you'll find six 1-5 volt cells in it. Together they give you the 9 volts you're looking for!
@jacobmanalang81628 жыл бұрын
the more you learn the more confusing it is! like when its just numbers cr123a can also be 16340. 16 meaning the 16mm diameter, 34 for 34~35mm length, 0 for cylindrical in shape. so 18650 breaks down the same way. if you vape you might want an 18650 that runs at 30amps, but flashlight people on 18650 are fine with 10amps. these are li ion and run at 3.7v. aa can be 14500, aaa can be 10440. different battery chemistry too. regular (primary) non rechargeable are usually alkaline and run at 1.2 volts. the lithium non rechargeables are more expensive but store a lot better and wont leak as fast. rechargeable are usually nimh or li-ion. i dont really see ni-cad anymore. there's lipo, and another example is those surefire rechargeables lifepo4's that you cant find anymore so you'll have to settle for tenergy brand. im just going to stop here because its making MY head hurt writing it lol. good luck
@Stephen28468 жыл бұрын
I'm an electrical engineer so I just look at the specs. Different chemical formulations are used for different purposes.Some have higher current potential, while others have a lower internal resistance and are good for things like camera flashes because cycle times are reduced. Take a look at BatteryUniversity.com. They cover the subject pretty well.

I bought an Olight for $140. It failed in two weeks. I called the company, and they said if I sent it to China at my own expense they'd replace it. The retailer replaced it instead. The next one failed in two months. The problem, it seems, is that one cannot leave it plugged into the charger; the charger will burn the battery out because it has no automatic shutoff.

This is the type of light I want. I have the Acebeam X60 6500 lumens and it's mostly a thrower, I need a powerful floody light like X7. Too bad it doesn't have a manual output setting, also the 2 minutes on 9000 lumens is too low, my light can go up to 2 hours at 6500 lumens, it's gets hot but it does not die. X7 goes for 8 minutes at 5500 which is kinda low.

I can't wait for my copper S Mini Baton from Going Gear to ship. Pimp as fuck. I've had a Fenix E15 as my EDC for awhile, and it works great, but that copper Olight is fricking money. And 550 lumens from that little thing?! Nuts.

Got the copper S Mini in yesterday and man is it a nice light. Quite noticeably heavier than my Fenix E15 but better looking, more features, and much more light output. One thing though... I'd rather use a rechargeable RCR123 in it but rechargeable 123 batteries look to be 650-700 mAh while the normal 123 shipped with the light is 1600 mAh (per Olight's website). Why the heck is there such a difference between rechargeable and standard 123 batteries? No way I'm using rechargeable with that kind of crappy power.

fantastic light but for 199.00 and 90 extra for batteries and charger. it should have built-in lithium ion batteries and recharge through USB. why have your customers go through the hassle of removing and charging batteries which gives wear on the orings and body of the device for no reason. just up the price and include self contained batteries with charge port.
@jacobmanalang81628 жыл бұрын
i totally agree. the only reasons i can think of for them not doing that is to keep the price competitive, and for all the people who have a bunch of 18650's already on hand so if it does ever go dead or run low you could just swap out to a new set of 4. the r50 seeker seems more in line for us. still a fantastic light
@jirinafrankova1668 жыл бұрын
Yea, and when the port or the inside battery fails, you will have to throw away the whole light, not just batteries. Talking about when your warranty expires and this shit happen, and it happens. Personally I don't like built-in li-ion batteries in any el. devices.

Makes you a great target, if nothing else. The truth is, these lights are now bright enough to cause serious eye damage in some people, and the lawsuits are going to start flying. Honestly, the lowest power setting is a hundred times as useful as the 9,000 lumens setting. In a small light, human vision starts losing it's ability to pick out detail at about 4,000 lumens, and 1,000 lumens is rreally more than we can take advantage of with close work.
