Thanks Annie. I am very aware of my feet now and feel kind of floppy, soft and loose in my knees and hips. Like when the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz first began walking. Also noticing how calm my nervous system gets following your lessons. I've been away from the practice for a while now and coming back I really feel the soothing nourishment. I love the hand rubbing, and stroking.Thank you!

Thanks, I will add one more movement to my repertoire. Since I watched "Relieve Back Pain and Tension with Sliding Leg" this positioning has become part of my daily life. So much so that I bought a futon pillow, Moroccan type, to replace the folded blanket to increase the height of my sofa.

Thank you Annie , I have been doing legs on the couch to relieve my pain before and after two hip surgeries. it works for awhile ... The alignment of my knee and ankle is going in different directions with the key suffering in the middle...This lesson makes perfect sense ..feels so obvious and as Moshe says it is elusive...I will surely practice this one. I bet you have more?

Hi, what called my attention the most was the difficulty I had rolling on my heals sort of paralelly. I felt that the angles of my soles were moving in strange angles
@SensingVitality
@SensingVitality Жыл бұрын
Good to notice these details. You can take one of the movements and explore small movements and then rest. Take time to integrate. If there is resistance in a movement, give your body some time to explore, i.e., try again later in the day or in a few days. Try a different lesson and come back to this one and see if things change.

Watched the video till the end. Can't watch and do this exercise at the same time 🤭 And with chronic severe pain it's hard to remember to do it afterwards. My back is very bad with worn intervertebral discs and double scoliosis. Strange that it started so suddenly with my left hip many months ago and is now manifesting from my entire middle to my feet. Sometimes "dead" spots. Deep down I feel that Feldenkrais is the solution and try to do some exercises every day. An additional handicap is the broken tendon in my right arm. Getting up from the floor or even a chair is not possible without the help of my arms due to weak leg muscles. Which exercise is best to start with to gain some mobility and reduce pain?

You can do most lessons on the bed for now. Good to listen to the lesson and then follow next with just the audio to sense with your body instead of watching and trying to imitate me... You can also slow the lesson down a notch by adjusting the playback speed-- that may be helpful for you. And try this lesson on your bed using 2 couch cushions on your bed (if you have a couch!) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6eZnnWEeq1qoMU or check out my healing rest playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLrnMEMVXiYLzX2kFsniWsIMXUuVhYnMeE Let me know how it goes. Adapting the lessons is a good way to go and I have many you can do.

I am recovering from a broken hip , last year early April. I use a cane and walker to get around. Walk 30-40 minutes per day and do hip rehab twice a day, most days. Looking for more mobility and strength in the operated leg. Also balance. My hip grinds often when I do my housework. The hip is still painful getting up from the floor. And back pain is my companion. Any idea how to improve a little faster?
@SensingVitality
@SensingVitality 7 ай бұрын
I would recommend moving in a swimming pool to reduce any grinding until you have more ease. Feldenkrais is gentle and hopefully you can reduce effort more and more so there is less grinding and more ease. Before you focus on strength, see if you can back off a bit to find ease first and then very slowly build strength. You can check out my blanket roll lessons which are often helpful for balance and hips as well as my hip playlist. Blanket Roll: kzbin.info/aero/PLrnMEMVXiYLwCRFO4ArkJG3RV41UrbHlS Hips Playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLrnMEMVXiYLwFUj6A2pEcHWcEKYTeuHgb and I have many more lessons on my Patreon.

This is a really good experience, thank you very much 🥰 what if I make it last longer? Is it good for the body? I have a lot of tension in my sacral area. My feet also are very disconnected from the legs, it's hard for me to move them on the same direction. Strange also to feel how much the right hip react when I move the left foot. I'm afraid to move something wrong though, or to disturb the balance that the body create to protect itself from pain. something like that... What do you think?
@SensingVitality
@SensingVitality 2 жыл бұрын
That is fine to do this longer-- rest a bit in between though. It's easy to over stimulate or over tax an area without knowing it. Especially if there has been numbness or injury. You can also just wait a few hours and do the lesson again if you are feeling that it may be too much. Everyone is different and it takes sensing time including some trial and error to learn what is the right amount for you.

@@SensingVitality thank you very much for your answer! One more thing: Which kind of training would you recommend to keep the body healthy? Or is feldenkrais enough?
@SensingVitality
@SensingVitality 2 жыл бұрын
@@chiaradibi4168 Some kind of aerobic exercise is good to do-- i.e, walking, hiking, biking, swimming, skating, dancing, cross-country skiing, etc. Whatever you enjoy that gets your heart going and maintaining some active movement during the day is beneficial. Feldenkrais does help with some toning, but is more a neurological healing/connection that is good for tuning up the body. Like tuning a musical instrument-- then need to play the instrument. :)

On the last part that involves internal rotation, I’m thinking not good idea for a hip replacement. I would appreciate caveats for those of us with hip replacements when giving instructions on your exercises. Thank you

Thanks for your comment-- yes, it's always important to be careful with any joint issues. This process of listening to the body can be challenging. I will keep your suggestion in mind in future videos.
