Beautifully said, Dan. I’ve experienced light sensitivity, smell sensitivity (severe), chemical sensitivity, lightheartedness…every single bit of it was my nervous system setting the volume on high! If anyone is experiencing these scary symptoms, sensations, rest in the truth that you will get over it, and have your life back. I’m living proof. When I got the clear knowledge that it was all fear, flat out fear..my nervous system began to calm down. 🙏🏻

Thanks Dan, this subject is perfect timing for me. I've overcome many symtoms by believing they're perceived danger symptoms, but notice I've become more and more sensitive to noise, smells etc over the years that I've had chronic symptoms. I’ve put it down to being a Highly Sensitive Person, and that this is just who I am. Recently I've started to play with the idea that it’s a result of perceived danger. I tried this out just last night... our central heating is now coming on, and the cranking of the pipes is really loud in my room. I find it very jarring. It's hard to fall asleep (as I go to bed earlier than my mum!). As it started cranking last night, I soothed myself with messages of safety, and I fell asleep quite quickly! Amazing!! I'm really looking forward to treating all my other sensitivities with messages of safety. Thanks so much for all the work you do 💚

I get scintillating scotoma (ie ocular migraine), and so did Dr Sarno, he says himself. I worked on a headache clinic in the British health service. One of the common factors of migraine is dehydration and tiredness combined, so whatever the TMS aspect, it might be worth considering, when you get one, if you've had enough sleep and had sufficient water.

Can you supplement this video with another talking specifically about visual disturbances (visual snow, floaters, palinopsia, light sensitivity, etc.) and tinnitus? A lot of people are looking for guidance on that stuff specifically and it'd be helpful to hear it called out by name.
@slee7991

I'm willing to bet this can be related to chronic epstein bar virus. Mine started with tinnitus. You have to find a practitioner who knows how to test for it properly though. I had 2 tell me it didn't mean anything until 1 finally said yes it is reactivated. It's helpful to know the name but in the end really doesn't matter. It was helpful for me to understand what was going on with my body though it has affected so many things

Everything you mention is standard anxiety. Those are the most basic anxiety symptoms. I’ve had them all. Do what Dan teaches. Just apply the concepts. @@bchristopher2270 Hey, thank you. Did you have the visual stuff like 24/7? It's been pretty constant for me. Started initially after a lot of anxiety a few years ago but was mild enough and not debilitating. Had slowly worsened as my anxiety worsened gradually following that onset, but the visual symptoms were all made much, much worse by a short course of pharmaceutical anti-anxiety drugs earlier this year. Been off everything for 6 months+ and still no improvement. Anxiety has remained bad though.

I love this topic. 😊 Due to being in perceived danger mode, my brain can be sensitive to hormonal changes, and that can trigger migraine attacks. The migraines start with an aura, so my vision changes just before an attack. As a result, one of my most persistent mind body symptoms is blurry vision and light sensitivity. This comes and goes, but is always worse when I freak out about symptoms or feel emotionally unsafe. My brain has learnt to associate blurry vision and light sensitivity with the threat of an on coming migraine attack, so it sends more alarm signals, causing heightened anxiety and even more symptoms. Interesting, since I started doing this work, teaching my brain there is nothing to be concerned about, I haven't had a migraine attack during my last 3 cycles! This is absolutely because I have turned the volume down, so my brain is less sensitive.

Fantastic video Dan!! Thank you!! ❤❤ I have been waiting for this topic. Your Mom's acute sense of smell was an example how this can be looked at as a positive sometimes. Thankfully everyone was ok. I feel like I stand out and not in a good way as people around me get impatient with me. I smell things acutely they don't ( car fumes, bleach etc) . My volume is on high for smells, sounds, vibrations like a truck going by and even my hair feels sensitive/hurts on my scalp sometimes. I would love the volume down. This was brilliant and opened my eyes and perspective on it.

Very good video! For me, the worse thing was MSG, monosodium glutamate in food. It caused immediate tachycardia and mcas reactions, as well as a wave of fatigue. When present in large quantity, it's written MSG in the ingredients, but when it's present in small quantity, it's written ''natural flavor''. Any quantity would trigger symptoms. Interestingly, after reading Sarno's book, the problem is gone and I was much much better. Sound sensitivity is still there, so there is still work to done, but I'm on my way!

How do you create/teach safety to the brain is the question. I've been repeating "it's not the supplement" or the truth that I'm in danger, but my brain doesn't change, remains activated and hasn't healed. What do we do to change the brain's perception when we know it's just perception, but the brain does not change even over lots of time, like a couple of years.

As a Dutch, I wonder what is moul? Apart from that what you describe is exactly what I experience. Sensitivity for hormonal changes, sounds/noise, smells, scary thoughts, violence on tv because of this volume issue. I am aware and trying to turn down the volume. What is an obstacle is the idea that my nervous system is more sensitive than others, called hsp (highly sensitive person). Is this a realistic thought or can also I turn down the volume? And how? In other words: is there diversity in nervous systems in the field of sensitivity or can anyone turn down the system and get rid of the sensitivity issue?
