The Vagus Nerve Reset - 1. Lay down, settle and focus your attention and awareness to the presence of your hands behind the base of your head; where your head and your skull meets. 2. Move your eyes in the direction of 3 o’clock. 3. Maintain until you: Yawn, Swallow or Sigh. (Note: depending how stressed your nervous system is, this can take 10 seconds to 2 or 3 minutes). That’s it. Thanks Renee Ostertag.

I was skeptical. KZbin recommended this to me, no idea why because it’s not my thing, BUT Just tried this and it’s unbelievable… at first nothing happened after getting into position and moving my eyes towards three o clock… I felt stupid but just kept the position… and about 90 seconds in I had the biggest SIGH (the kind where you suck in three breaths like after crying) and exhaled. I feel utterly relaxed and amazing. THANK YOU

I have had similar episodes with You Tube's algorythm. I don't know if AI has gotten involved. It's not psychic, but perhaps the product of cross referencing lots of information about us and making inferences from the spaces in between. Perhaps Siri and the girls tell tales in cyberspace. So far, those recommendations have been fruitful like yours.

Hi. I'm not sure why KZbin's algorithm suggested this video for me. It's not related to anything else I've looked up or watched. However, I happened to have had severe experiences with my vagus nerve. One so severe I blacked out at work after hitting my ankle bone. Later, I was told I turned gray and they couldn't get a pulse on me. I have a lot of suppressed stress due to family issues, marriage and trying to live above it all. My pain tolerance is very high and I believe it does more harm than good sometimes. No medical professional has ever informed me of any of this. Actually, I had no idea it was tied to stress. Thank you.
@annel2875
@annel2875 4 ай бұрын
yes the medical profession don't even get an hour in their 7+ year education to learn about life trauma (rather than acute obvious trauma). Maybe listen to Gabor Mate and Peter Levine among others to understand how you ended up there. Maybe your personality leads you to more stress than needed as well. Good luck.

My? Don’t own it. It belongs to the old system. There’s a spiritual war right now. Let the old fade away. Darkness is coming to light. The age of Aquarius is for the good of the people. Focus on what you want to manifest. It is going to get dark before it gets light. But ultimately we have to raise the vibration collectively. 🤍

You bet, Victoria! The sky (or our creativity, perhaps) is the limit with ways this can be applied... one of my more advanced favorites is to use it while thinking of something that can evoke a stress response, and the body positioning of this exercise can reduce how that stress lives in our body. Good stuff! Would love to hear from you how you applied it. Best wishes, and feel free to reach out with more insights or questions :)

Thanks for sharing this amazing technique.

I have suffered from high to severe somatic anxiety symptoms since burn out, coupled with CFS. A range of medication takes the edge off the problem but often doesn't completely touch it. Thus any slight trigger would make life uncomfortable. I don't ever say things like this. So this is more than meant. Your publicising this has changed my quality of life significantly. It may not work for everyone. But this - and your slow blinking technique - have both taken the constant nerves/butterflies away from me. They were felt in every breathe. I've tried all sort of other vagal nerve stimuli. Breathing exercises didn't quite hit it. Tapping. Meditation. None worked. The closest I came is with a device that sends sonic sound vibrations through the chest cavity to activate it in the same way that chanting or humming might. That helped but still didn't quite provide such easy and instant help. The two exercises I have tried that you advertised seem to have. Astounding. Thank you. I've been doing all I can to help my body heal it's parasympathetic nervous system including fighting for access to a neurological team that specialise in the autonomic nervous system. I shall be sharing this with them and looking forwards to being able to relax more now. I've been enjoying yawning!!! I've not felt able to relax for more than a decade. I'm finding it works well with my eyes shut and also doing the 9PM position so that the muscle work is shared. ;)

I have been struggling with many health issues that have affected the vagus nerve. I have been taking Parasym Plus and it does help, but this is amazing! It took me almost 10 min at the 3 o'clock position and 5-6 min at the 9 o'clock position. I have HPA Axis Dysfunction as well, so my body has been severely reactive. I do meditation and breathwork, but this has been more calming than most of the other exercises I've tried. I have been yawning nonstop since doing this. So grateful for finding your video. I have been trying to repair the vagus nerve and parasympathetic nervous system for almost a year. I am going to purchase Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve.

This made me yawn immediately..I repeated it two more times...made me yawn each time. I'm dealing with vestibular migraine, diagnosed after 2+ years of misdiagnoses. Also reading the book Heal Your Headache by Dr. David Buccholz ...doing the elimination diet to see if I have any food triggers. The book says that stress is a trigger, as is dehydration, the weather, not enough sleep, exercise either lack of or overdoing it. I was feeling really stressed b/4 my VM symptoms began, then I got a virus back in March 2020, and it's been miserable since. Stress certainly made my symptoms worse and moreso as time passed and I so no light at the end of the tunnel...I had to work at 'accepting' the symptoms which is hard to do but it does make a huge difference... So thankful for anything that helps. Vagus stimulation is in the list of things that does help VM. Thank you for showing this vagus nerve reset!
