We started the day with a ride on the iconic Bullet Train (not the one with Brad Pitt), traveling from Osaka to Tokyo. After checking into our hotel, we headed straight to Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa - one of Tokyo’s oldest and most visited landmarks.
The place was packed with people, and getting a clear shot of the main temple was a challenge with everyone trying to grab the best photo spot. But the atmosphere was incredible, full of life and energy.
One of the highlights was watching the ritual of burning incense. Visitors gathered around the large incense cauldron (jokoro), wafting the smoke toward themselves. It’s believed to purify your mind and body, so of course, we joined in-it was such a (not) fascinating experience. It was like smoking 100 cigars at the same time.
From the lively Nakamise Street leading to the temple to the stunning architecture and traditions, Senso-ji truly captures the essence of Tokyo’s history and culture.
I’ll be editing and uploading more videos from this trip, so stay tuned for the next part of the journey!
