The way that I view situations where others hurt those that I love is that God is just using them (people who hurt others) as "puppets " for a greater good. It doesn't mean that they don't still have free will, just that God is using what He knows they will do and uses that to bring that "greater good " to others who stay faithful in that situation. Beyond that, it is God who will judge them, not my job. In other words, they are not "doing it to me". God is allowing it.

Regarding the first hatred, this I have seen over again over-done whereby good people default into not defending themselves out of fear of wrongdoing and making them a culprit of evil people as victims. It almost welcomes evil to befall them. A person has LAWFUL self-defense (read Aquinas on this) and it includes one's life, property, and honor (name). You have a right if not a duty to confront abuse and wrongdoing. The anger is a pain letting you know of it the same way a broken leg hurts because it was injured and needs care. These are all proper and in accordance with God. It is not hatred to confront wrongs done to you and actually does the wrongdoer good by preventing them more sins by encouraging them to wrong you more by doing nothing or doing good for them, which is like permission to abuse you. Look at the pedo crisis in the Church. Should people not be outraged at them? Do good to them (avoid prison time) and go ahead and let them keep on ministering? NO - so don't confuse hatred with proper justice. Ruminating on wanting to kill or maim people is a serious defect that needs to be given to the Lord and if more so (to the point of acting on it) will face more. However, it is NOT wrong to ask God for justice and deliver you from evil people and one way is protecting you from it by confronting it and administering proper justice.
@anonymousdontbotheraboutit2895 Жыл бұрын
Indeed. There is a difference between revenge and justice. There are situations where forgiveness is the right answer. One could in even say that in most situations one may experience, one should simply forgive. But there are situations like you mentioned, such as child abuse, pedophilia, and the like, where the right thing to do is to report it to the proper authorities and not simply to forgive. It's very good point you brought up. What St. Alphonsus was talking about had to do with something common at the time in which those who had their reputation or honour taken from them would plot revenge against the one who did that. Defending oneself from those accusations is different than taking revenge. He wasn't talking about rape, child abuse, or pedophilia. I think he would agree that those people should go to jail. While I can agree that it is ideal for the victims of these acts to forgive the perpetrator, I also understand that this is not always possible. AND by "forgive" I mean release, which means to let go of bitterness. I do not mean exoneration, which means to act as though the incident never happened or restore a relationship with the person. To exonerate someone requires the person to be genuinely repentant, and even then the trauma inflicted on the victim may make that practically impossible in this life.

When Jesus taught, He taught with LOVE. This teaching is the' POUND, POUND, POUND of the Pharisees, and we know that the Pharisees were in most part, hated. You need to teach with LOVE. I. E. How about explaining that it is EASY to fall prey to lust, as women often dress immorally. This is 'why' modesty of dress is important. How about looking at the FACT that we are ALL responsible for people 'falling to lust', due to the fact we are NOT praying for modesty, or not praying for our leaders to teach modesty, we are not 'open' to be examples of modesty, we listen or laugh at immodest jokes. These are a 'few' examples of how we need to see to the 'fall' of those others and ourselves, who are all guilty in some part. We run 'joyfully' to Jesus and Mary to help us confess well and FOCUS on daily conversion in the smallest of our daily crosses. The FOCUS of HELL, HELL, HELL is NOT the 'way' of Our Lord. Sure there is hell to pay for sin, but also for poor teaching that does not uplift, as with the Beatitudes. Glory be to God!
@nataliabenoit46534 жыл бұрын
It actually is He taught that the way to Hell is wide He spoke as well with the truth have you not read Matthew Ch. 5, 6, 7? Love is not a feeling but an act of the will neither is it a tone of voice or something that sounds good. Love wills the good of the other the will of God is our salvation but we cant be saved if we are blind to our ways if we are in mortal sin. We are happy He came to save us and revealed to us how to avoid falling into Hell through the love of Jesus Christ can we overcome. Did not God raise the author of this teaching to Sainthood? Yes He did this is St. Alphonsus Ligouri. And the thus Jesus Himself says in Matthew 7: 16You shall know them by their fruits. Can grapes be gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17So then, every good tree produces good fruit, and the evil tree produces evil fruit.Many are presumptive to think that Hell doesn't exist anymore it's why this teaching is necessary. Especially those who are blinded by lust. God loves those who love Him and wants to save those who are enslaved but how can they know the way if they presume they can continue living in lust and fornication or immoral sexual sins because Jesus died and we are forgiven no one needs to change? That's the error this Sermon is correcting. Because many presume this following the lie of the liar but God wants our freedom. Blindly are they lead by the blind if you follow only the passions of what sounds good. If you had a daughter co-habitating with a boyfriend would you not tell her the truth?? Would you not want to tell her by your authority the wrong and sin she is to simply turn her around back to God?
@marieleopold16254 жыл бұрын
@@nataliabenoit4653 Yes, I understand my dear, however, to say; Do this or hell...is VERY limiting. We have to realize that the man or woman for example; caught up in lust, we cannot look upon them and say; Repent or be damned. We have to BE THE EXAMPLE, pray for those whom we see 'caught up' in the sin, then sacrifice for their conversion. Perhaps, our children immodesty dressed through our poor teaching have been the occasion for another's downfall . Things are not black and white for discerning another's plight. We have only to look to ourselves, and convert. Purity is a virtue that is lifelong and increases due to our conversion. I have heard toooooo many sermons that CONDEMN and we follow suit in judging another's sin. The focus MUST remain on our own act getting cleaned up and then LOVINGLY, as God so directs us, we can gently assist others with GREAT COMPASSION. ALWAYS remembering to take the log out of our own eye, before removing the splinter in another's.
@nataliabenoit46534 жыл бұрын
@@marieleopold1625 I simply was meaning our own but used the child example in order to understand the sermons intention as a Father. St John the Baptist lol said repent or else I mean it's the truth you cannot look at anything else but that when we die. So as this Saint holds a responsibility as St. John the Baptist did and any parent to tell people the truth. It's not wrong if it's to guide them back. Love tells the truth compassion doesn't tolerate or minimize the severity of the situation if your responsibility is for ones soul we will be even judged on that as well. Jesus leads us through it this is a Spirit led Sermon by a Saint I love my favorite book of his is "The Glories if Mary" it has a lot of that love factor you might be desiring to understand. The book also includes the 7 sorrows rosary.

This what the devil wants: that we deny the presence of hell and the existence of the devil. Then he can do his work in secret seeking the ruin of our souls. And yes it is God who will conquer him if we allow His (God’s) love enter into our hearts and minds.

Keep in mind though that mortal sin requires grave matter, full knowledge, and full consent. If one of those is missing, it's not mortal sin. Many people who use Jesus as a cuss word is oblivious to how serious that is or say it out of habit after seeing others do it. Same thing with saying "O God" or "O Lord" or "god---- it." Nonetheless, it is sad how using religious titles as cuss words (or cussing itself for that matter) have become so normalized that practically everyone uses them now.

Alphonsus Ligouri cannot be a Saint n cannot be in heaven by the way he worships Mary. Look at the prayers he composed for Mary. It is purely worship.
