Christian Catholic here and I am originally from a country where priests and people saved Jewish people from Nazis and never let no Jew be killed. I am proud of that in sooo many ways. One Cardinal saved soooo many children and people from harm and to this day Jews that are in my country really happy and accepted and loved. They love my people because of the fact we sheltered them. I am sooo happy to see someone prepare these dishes and learning about your culture. I wish you all the best and I hope, one day you come and visit Poland first and then my country because Poland adores us too 😃😃🥰🥰🥰.

Absolutely make things that only you like as well as foods that your family likes, and I’ve been know to make the things that one or two that kids like. Our Christmas table will have smaller foods that certain people/ peoples like. I also try to make a little extras of what we each like so I have left overs if what I like, my husband likes, and the kids can take their leftovers home.

I have never thought of making challah in pans before, but what a wonderful idea. Making a lot of medium sized challah sure beats making one or two large challah. I will have to try it. I LOVE Blueland laundry tabs. I love being able to eliminate those large plastic containers from the landfills.

i grew up kosher but my husband and i are not kosher in our home but kosher style. We never ever mix meat and dairy and our kids grew up this way, no milk at meals, no cheeseburgers etc..healthy and love it...also i grew up with that exact eggplant dish . My grandmother would make it along with pickled green peppers and my mother made those and now i make them, only i eat those 2 dishes but they are part of who i am. My kids do love eggplant, just not a fan of the charbroiled style. Love your videos and thank you for sharing your recipes...i will be making challah for my family...im sure theyll love it! ( it is very difficult to be Kosher in an area where very few Jewish people live , we are far out into the boonies..so we do our best)

Hi Sonya, I would like to request you to make a video, if you could, about how you clean the meat you purchase and get rid of all the blood completely from it before cooking. It would be really helpful for me since I follow the Torah Laws on the same, and I am just starting to cook meat. Any tips from you be greatly of assistance to me. Thank you.

I love making sumac and red onion salad with cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. I also make a variety of them each time. I do one with sumac and a dill and yogart and dill sauce with garlic and it's amazing when you add a little bulgur and aleppo pepper.

Hello Sonya! Yes I do cook things for myself that no one else will eat. It is usually some type of vegetable... beets, brussel sprouts. So funny you mentioned sumac, I just watched a show and the character(a jewish woman) said she had used sumac in the soup. I will have to try that! Your videos are helping me try to become a better prepared, more organized cook. Love your channel! Shalom, Shalom

Wow, phenomenal! I could not have accomplished all that when I was young and working. I do Shabbat with my grandchildren every Friday on Zoom. I make challah twice a month, and they get one dropped off during the week. Think. I will try halving your recipe and see how it comes out. Mine takes so much more time, and only makes 3 loaves. We keep one here, so we can do the brochas here while the kids do them at home.
