Septa Rail Extravaganza

On break from college, this video features some of the many modes of Septa with a few appearances from Amtrak.
First station is North Philadelphia, not North Broad.

Another interesting fact regarding commuter rail on the RDG side vs the PRR side. SEPTA actually controls the power on the RDG side. It's all out of Wayne Jct. The power on the PRR side is all controlled by Amtrak.

Maybe I'll have to make a pilgramage back to Philly and do videos of trains on the READING side. :) Visit some old Temple friends while I'm at it. Is there a weekend railpass available for SEPTA commuter rail?

Coverage of the READING side of commuter rail would have been nice. There are beautiful stations Elkins Park & Jenkintown not that far from Center City which would have been great backdrops for shots. Of course Reading Terminal no longer has trains :( They could have cleaned it up AND kept the trains!! Why did they wait to clean it up til after the trains were gone? 30th St has trains & it's kept pretty nice (at least compared to the way Reading Terminal was kept back when IT had trains).

SEPTA is nice but Philly should be careful... a lot of the city is decaying... and becoming real poor and unsafe.... especially when you ride outside the 40th portal....
