Not 1998, since some of the SEPTA commuter equipment still lack "ditch lights", which were required starting 1997 and mandatory afterwards. I'm suspecting autumn '97.

No, just that the date may have been off. Still a great time capsule.

@1810 the date on the camcorder says November 3 1998....assuming all the video was taken the same year... so at least the video wasn't totally misleading as there was footage from 1998 assuming the camcorder had the right date. sooo who knows. great video btw. also according to a "TRAINS" magazine post "railroads almost always miss the statutory deadlines sometimes by years".... it was required on new locomotive made after march 1996 and that ditch lights were mandated December 31 1997.... is it possible that the rr was conceivably late.. look at positive train control ... how many railroads are ready for the upcoming mandate in 2017? just saying it is possible he was right.
