I've seen this line many times at the 69 st terminal in Philadelphia, but have never had the chance to ride it. Philadelphia also has about 4 or 5 trolly lines that run through the neighborhoods at street level, then ride underground next to the Market-Frankford subway line. The trolly lines terminate at City Hall in the center of the city. Thanks for the video!

In San Francisco we have an extensive light rail network with multiple articulated cars and one historical streetcar line. Over there SEPTA has a bunch of those little cars zipping on down the tracks. It's so weird to see those single-car streetcars as anything more than a historical thing. Really cool stuff!

Growing up in Scranton PA I missed all of its trolleys and interurbans; most of what I now know comes from Electric City, the Scranton trolley museum next door to Steamtown National Historic Site. I hope that what the Philly area has with Septa is around for a very long time. Scenic, partially separated from traffic, quiet, fairly fast. Very low key.

When the streetcars stop, the red lights flash to notify motorists that the car is at a full stop for passengers.
