Oh yeah they’re called hikikomori or neets. It’s definitely a huge problem in Japan. I also think it’s why isekai is such a huge genre. It serves as a great catapult for escapism in fiction.

@@Weeabruh So after watching more hermit KZbin episodes the narrator said they now have 1M of them right now . Future estimates are 10M !!!!!! Lmao I gotta had it to them in admiration and envy they got a taste of life and the pill was so bitter and toxic they withdrew altogether. But 10M!? That’s a serious economic consequence for the lost revenue of dating , marriage , children , etc. Hopefully they spend it all on manga I know I would !!!! :-)
