Welcome back!! 💕 My dog is always playing in the background when I try to film and sometimes, I'm just like "WHY NOW". I also relate so much with feeling like the videos go so long 😂 I need to learn to shut up!! I felt like you were able to be so concise in this video -- very well done 🥰 I was so intrigued by Bright Young Women when Suhba was talking about it. You've solidified my decision -- it's going on my TBR, and probably as an audiobook since I'm really enjoying audiobooks right now, and I'm always looking for a well done narration. Really enjoyed hearing you talk about Clytemnestra because I do have to agree with your opinions, especially your opinions with the atmosphere! It's well written but it just didn't fit my reading style 🥰 Yess to DNFing books you don't enjoy!! That's not me though 💀 I have no idea, I just... cope that it'll get better. Especially with books that are more loved. It seems like that book was a good idea, but poor execution. Great video as always!

Thank you!! Haha why do our pets always do that? 😂 It’s so hard to be concise (I’m glad you understand the struggle), so I appreciate you saying that! Yay can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Bright Young Women and yes definitely recommend the audiobook! I agree with you about Clytemnestra, I enjoyed hearing your thoughts even if our overall feelings were different! Glad we can agree on some things though 😊 And yes I am all about DNF’s!!! Not enough time for books I don’t like… Maybe you can try it sometime with a less popular book (although I love your book rants and I feel like they wouldn’t happen as often if you DNF’ed more books) 😂

So glad you got home safely ❤ such a good reading month! Loved that you enjoyed god of the woods so much. I love buddy reading with you!!! 😊 so glad we read Bright Young Women together. Definitely worth the read. I’ve never read any T. Kingfisher books and everyone says her stories are Amazing!!!! I think that it’s totally okay to read a book and not remember generally what happens. As long as you enjoyed it in the moment is all that matters!!! Fall feels over for me once thanksgiving hits so I’ll have to try The Pumpkin Spice Cafe next year! 🙌🏽 for normalizing DNFs!!!

Thanks friend! Love buddy reading with you too, we’ll have to do it again sometime, haha. Maybe a T Kingfisher since you haven’t read any yet?? And thank you for the validation about my crappy memory, haha I do agree though that enjoyment is the most important thing! I’m sure you’ll enjoy The Pumpkin Spice Cafe if/when you get to it next year 😊 And yes, trying to let myself DNF as often as necessary!!

Great wrapup! And better late than never, month is just a number. 😊 I'm going to have to read God of the Woods eventually! I'm curious about T Kingfisher too, and possibly BYW. Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on them! And Clytemnestra was so mixed for me, I liked the story, but I think it could have been so much more. And sometimes I feel like it's hard to separate being on the character's side or liking the character, and if the book was actually good or not. I'm not sure how much of my liking the book was actually just rooting for the wronged woman. And the frescoes! 😆 I'm glad I read it though, and I'm happy you enjoyed it! Also very happy to see you back at home, cats and all! I hope that the community as a whole can rebuild and see progress as well.

Thank you!! I’ll definitely look forward to hearing your thoughts if you get to any of these. And that’s a good point about Clytemnestra/books in general. I tend to think about and rate books based on my enjoyment and connection to the characters and story and not as much about the quality of the book (although in some cases it’s too bad to overlook, haha). That’s just me though so I totally get your thoughts on it too! Haha I’m gonna have to re-read it just to notice all the frescoes again 😂 And thank you so much! It will be a long rebuild but it’s happening for sure.

Ooh, great reading month!! A Sorceress Comes to Call is on my TBR. I have been intrigued by Short Walk, but I adored Addie LaRue so much, I'm nervous it will make me already not like Short World. 😂

Thank you, it was a fun one 😍 Can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you get to A Sorceress Comes to Call! And yes totally get it, I was nervous too because Addie LaRue is one of my all-time favorites. Short Walk is definitely not on the same level but it was still a worthwhile read in my opinion!

Glad to see you back home!!Clytemnestra sounds so good, I feel like I’m getting more into Greek mythology too and like the stories in particular that have the women’s perspective. Hahaha your review of the pumpkin spice cafe definitely ridded me of any fomo I had from not reading it yet
@LibrariesandLattesАй бұрын
Thank you!! Yeah I would definitely recommend checking out Clytemnestra since you like mythology from a female perspective! And haha I’m glad it helped, I still do recommend it but maybe not as obsessed with it as the internet is 😂
