September in Jtree was my worst month ever too! Literally since the start of me putting my house on Airbnb. it was awful.

I’m telling you… your photos are amazing! Unless you hired some super amazing person that is a photo wizard… I can’t see paying for that. With that said.. I’ll be there next week!!!! Ahhhhh! I’m so excited! I get to experience the seventh ray house first hand!

The projector thing is exactly how I made my wood-burned Meadowbrook sign for our cabin Airbnb! I'm also going to making another sign with the same method soon. Cool 😊

Funny story about old sinks. My husband would throw in one away from his renovation. I retrieved it if nothing else to give it to someone on Facebook and that’s what I did huge sink with the low sideboard where you could wash the dishes and let them drain old old-fashioned. I put that on Facebookand they were fighting over this sink. I thought it’d be a great fish cleaning station and I had so many angry people because I would not save the sink for them. There was so many people that wanted it. I said first come first serve it’s at the street.😮

Thanks for sharing your experiences. September in Northeast Georgia was much better than August, which was our worst month so far this year. October thru December are typically busy months here.

I would definitely leave that diy wall how it is as it makes it different, artsy and done with love. Also, as an architecture/airbnb photographer myself, I'm excited for the next episode with some photography job happening. Hope he can absorb the mood of the airbnb and capture it. I do prefer some natural shadows as it creates a more cosy, nice and moody atmosphere. Flash makes it more fake, but I do know that in the US things are seen different and real estate uses that HDR look a lot. We will see, looking forward to it! The signs look good! I also want to do one in mine using a dead tree trunk I have and didn't dig it out for that reason 😁

How about a sign as well in the entry way of the property that says “Welcome to The Seventh Ray House” ? Seems like a nice touch people may like when driving into the property

We have thought about that... we have a nearby Airbnb that has a sign and they've been messed with so we prob won't do that or if we do it will be closer to the front door! :)

Topic request for a future video ❤ At what point do you seek new cleaners? We hired a local company. So far, there have been many benefits: allowing us same-day turnovers, more bookings, and they also (are supposed to) take away trash and do laundry. HOWEVER, I've also found that almost every single cleaning, they overlook basic yet MAJORLY IMPORTANT tasks that I have specifically outlined in both a checklist and a photo binder of how the house should be staged upon leaving. They also typically take about 2 days to send me pre- and post-cleaning photos after guests have left. They "forget" things like not removing large piles of literal bagged trash in the basement, leaving 0 toilet paper out for guest groups, not arranging pillows properly despite it being clear in the photos how to arrange them simply, not vacuuming some areas, leaving crumbs on the counter, leaving a jar of diluted soap on the counter, leaving bags of laundry in plain view of guests, and all kinds of random things. I just feel like I can't fully trust them to leave the house properly ready for guests. They seem to blantantly skip stuff on the checklist and when I address it later, it's just empty apologies and excuses instead of accountability and solution-focused planning. I keep giving them chances, only to be disappointed again. We had to request a discount on the last clean because none of the things I had specifically communicated about previously were done. I live 2 hours away so I'm not always able to go double-check their work and they don't even follow through on taking or sending the photos some of the time, so I can't rely on that either. ⭐⭐⭐My question is: how many times did you have to follow up with your cleaners to finally trust them? Or have they performed in line with expectations since day 1? I have a disability and I am able to clean the house by myself to an extremely clean standard, but it takes me forever by myself, I live 2 hours away, and I can't always get help. Whereas they often have a team of 2-3 able-bodied "professional" cleaning people who still cannot seem to clean according to expectations. I've tried to be patient but feel like I'm at the end of my rope. I feel like they only attempt to make things "look" clean at a glance, without doing the actual work of ensuring it ACTUALLY IS clean to a high standard. We're closed for this year, reopening in May 2025, so I do have time to seek other options. My gut says to try to look elsewhere because I've already tried at least 5-6x to provide additional clarification, feedback, and tools to make it easier for them, but they still continue to consistently miss the mark on basic things. Sorry for the ramble, just in disbelief still! 🤐😵😵😵

Hi there! Fellow short term rental host here. In my experience, you may just need to move on from the cleaning crew. It is normal for pillow placement to be off and some things to be missed -the way I address this is when I can I meet with them and physically show them how I put the pillows. I follow it up with my husband filming me do the tasks and send it to their phones. they should be sending you pictures after each room has been cleaned for at least a month or so until you fully trust them. However, a lot of the items you have mentioned Sounds like they are rushing and simply don't get it/don't Care. The other issue is they may have various people cleaning &some are better than others. Someone once told me; some people know how to clean and some people just don't.
