Thank you for this. I don't want a waterlogged site, but it's good to know there are ways to deal with waterlogging.

thank you, i'm a pool constructor and i'm building pools in the bahamas, i needed to know how it works because i need a soak away for the pool overflow and backwash system. this was perfect, i already know what to do. thank you again

Thank you so much! I've learned a lot from you just from this 9 min video. I had a company come out and pump both tanks and when they emptied it out, water from the drain field started to come back into the septic tank. The septic company said it maybe a broken pipe but unless it's clogged it doesn't make sense. It has been raining a lot here so we are thinking the water is from all the rain. The tank is full again from the water entering from the drain field side in just a few hours. So maybe it's from the rain or a broken water pipe. I'm still investigating but wanted to thank you for this video!

I thought it would address my issue but it didn't. In my case the water level is like an inch below the ground. Meaning it's apparently the water level is the surface. Have you handled such cases? If yes, what can i do?

Is there any solution if the water table of the property is just 500 mm from FFL.

Based on what this guy is saying, I can only assume the United Kingdom doesn't care about contaminating the ground water. In the United States, we have very strict environmental rules and regulations regarding the elevation of a Leaching Field or Drainage Field in relation to the Water Table. In fact, in my state, you need to be a minimum of 4 feet above the Seasonal High Water Table, to ensure the ground water isn't contaminated by the water or Effluent in your "soakaway", to use your terminology. In America, you don't change or alter the elevation of the Outlet Pipe exiting the Septic Tank, just because your Leaching Area or Disposal Area is flooded with groundwater. You raise the elevation of the "soakaway" as required in most states to protect the groundwater from contamination. This is especially important if you have a well.

DOESN'T THE SOAK AWAY WATER STILL GET IN THE WATER TABLE?? & MOST PROPERTY WITH SOAKS ALSO HAV A WELL!??
@craigwillson59743 жыл бұрын
@@randyjohnson9772 in my state of New Hampshire, we have to make sure that 4 feet of permeable substrate has filtered the wastewater before it reaches the groundwater. In other words, a minimum of 4 feet of earth or permeable soils have to absorb, filter, and dissipate the waterwater to ensure it's clean, before it can enter the Water Table.

what is the high water table in your back yard?
@craigwillson59742 жыл бұрын
@@robertmccully2792 The Water Table or more specifically, the Seasonal High Water Table is the precise elevation of the groundwater in the earth. Obviously, with the change of seasons, the Water Table fluctuates, but typically is at it's highest elevation in the spring. To be clear, groundwater fluctuations in the earth are perfectly normal in my State of New Hampshire, but again, are usually highest in the spring... at least here in the Northeast United States.

Thankyou verymuch , Iam currently installing my tuffa tank septic tank, after put the plastic 5000 liter inside the dug pit ,the water later pushed up the tank and sfloat, now I have to remove the tank and dig up the hole to remove the dirt again, Iam now going to fill up water into the tank to hold the tank down in place see if this going to work , but tank for the information very helpful, watching from Papua New Guinea

That won't work! You need to bring in dirt and build everything above the table like we need to do. Ours is always flooded and we constantly pump to the joke of a ditch out front

How DOES A SOAK AWAY SYSTEM AFFECTS PROPERTIES WITH WELLS??
@craigwillson59743 жыл бұрын
Again, I'm in the State of New Hampshire, and currently live about an hour north of Boston. In any case, here in New England or the North Eastern part of the United States, we've got very strict environmental rules an regulations. As a result, the distance or space, between a Septic System and a Well, is a minimum of 75 feet in New Hampshire. In some states it's 100 feet, but in my opinion, the farther apart the better. Ideally, if you can put your Septic System in the front of the house, and your well in the back, or put the Septic System on the right side of the house, and the Well on the left, as long as it's 75 feet or greater, then you shouldn't have to worry about contamination of the drinking water. To be clear, very often raised or elevated Leaching Fields are required to make sure that the groundwater doesn't get contaminated either. This is what we call a Pump-up System, and due to the natural geology of my state, and the Seasonal High Water Table, raised mound systems are very common. Not to mention, ledge doesn't leach, nor does clay, which makes for challenging soil conditions. It's all about water absorbtion and percolation rates, which is why we dig "test pits" to determine what the natural conditions are on a particular site, before building. Obviously, if we run into problems, the site might not be buildable as a result of unsatisfactory soil conditions or poor "perc test" results. The idea is to safeguard or protect, both drinking water and the groundwater from contamination. It's a matter of public health and safety, and it's the law.
