If you didnt get it about Egghead being from the past 900 years ago, it means that the ancient kingdom in the void century had similar technology as Egghead, so the islands tech isnt actually from the past, the ancient kingdom was just so much in the future.

What’s insane about this reveal is that this means that whatever happened in the Void Century set back the entire One Piece world by about 1000 years. Then the World Government formed. Insane man - One Piece takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. This chapter was crazy when it came out!

One Piece is like a post-apocalyptic history. Is like a world subjected to destruction by the enemy and living in older times. Then you see strange islands, the devil fruits, as if everything were experiments created in the past.

To help with the Vegapunks: Vegapunk 01 - Shaka (good) Vegapunk 02 - Lilith (evil) Vegapunk 03 - Edison (thinker) Vegapunk 04 - Pythagoras (wisdom) Vegapunk 05 - Atlas (violence) Vegapunk 06 - York (greed) And you are right, the subtext is their primary function. Atlas, if you remember from the previous episodes, she said her job was to be violent. Lilith is rude and crude as aspects of being evil.

- Punk-01 (Good) aka Shaka whose name comes from the Japanese name of the Gautama Buddha, his most notable feature is his helmet which looks like Guy-Manuel’s (1/2 of Daft Punk) which is very interesting that before his introduction there is a One Piece theory KZbinr named Yude-Ron who also wears the same one, & he is voiced by Shuhei Sakaguchi - Punk-02 (Evil) aka Lilith whose name comes from Mesopotamian & Judaic myth of Adam’s first wife that after disobeying was kicked out of the garden then became a demon, & she is voiced by Aya Hirano - Punk-03 (Thinking) aka Edison whose name obviously comes from the American inventor Thomas Edison who invented the practical lightbulb which relates to how when people get ideas a lightbulb appears, the kanji on his jacket says “idea”, says “Eureka” a phase from Greek philosopher / mathematician Archimedes, & is voiced by Ryoko Shiraishi - Punk-04 (Wisdom) aka Pythagoras is named after the Greek philosopher Pythagoras known for creating the Pythagorean Theorem, his design is based off Robocon from “Ganbarel! Robocon” which was confirmed by Oda in an SBS, & is voiced by Tokuyoshi Kawashima - Punk-05 (Wrath) aka Atlas whose name comes from Greek myth of the Titan who is punished to hold up the Heavens, in the manga Oda accidentally drew her with “06” rather than “05”, her design is maybe based off of Astro Boy while her hair is like Uta’s, & she is voiced by Kaede Hondo - Punk-06 (Greed) aka York is maybe named after the Cape York meteorite one of the largest iron meteorites found but also in Japanese heritage name “yoku” can simply mean “Greed / Desire”, & she is voiced by Mutsumi Tamura

When you think about the void century and a big part of the history being hidden from the population, that's some attack on titan type shit right there 😂 when all the revelations be coming out everybody will be shock 🤯 and when I say everybody I mean people in the one piece verse obviously but also people in real life who's reading the serie. So when people tell me that One piece is just for kid or One piece is a goofy show, I'm like yeah but not really you should look deeper than what you see. Because Steph is right, Oda knows things for real xD

Adding to your point of a real life "future island from the past" concept, I have to bring up the Great Library of Alexandria. There were lots of legends regarding that library from, Archimedes inventing a working pump thanks to the information contained in the scrolls, to the possibility that if it wasn't burned down with all of it's secrets and knowledge still inside, we currently may have been hundreds of years "in the future". Pretty cool thing to think about in a "what if" scenario

We would be further in future if people in past didn’t also limit their resources aka. Making it so only a select few could read or get taught or hold certain positions. Think of all the inventions made and different backgrounds they came from. Imagine that but no barrier to invention.

Love your reactions as always...I am happy "Oda knows something " is still here and Mel talked about the Pyramids. When Egghead started and when the last episode (last chapter) dropped, I did some research on the Pyramids (because of this statement about the Island being from the past and Lilith who said she wants to create a Sun), Energy and Tesla. I won't go into details, but maybe Oda knows something... It was fascinating. I will encourage y'all to keep your mind open, think about energy, haki, the sun and vibrations and sound (the drums of liberation)... anyway, excited for you to discover Egghead. Already one of the best arc in the series

Can we talk about how awesome the world building is, yet again? Rather than just making egghead a lab, its literally a world of science, progress and futuristic imagination. But when you think it's from the future it's actually from the past. I think this is one of the most, if not the most impressive island Oda has crafted yet

I love how Vegapunk 1 Shaka's design is inspired by Daft Punk. If you guys read the manga and watched some of the crazy theory videos out there, you'd know that Oda has researched into lots of historical things that inspire him. Some really obscure religions and historical events etc so when you say you feel like Oda knows something, he probably fucking does

Hey Steph, about the "Oda know something" stuff that you said, I think you should check the french anime "The mysterious cities of gold" which goes deep into those concept of old civilisation creating high tech stuff and ancient weapons thousands years ago, with a whole plot behind the character of Esteban being literally called the son of the sun which correlate a lot with nika. In a few words, this show is about: pirates; ancient kingdom; ancient weapons; cities of gold (7); high tech; the sun as a main theme; a lost story. The ancient kingdoms in this show were both atlantis and mu empire. Why I'm saying that? Simply because this anime was broadcasted in japan when oda was 6 years old, which means he could have been a fan of it, and since the story never ended until very recently, Oda could have been greatly inspired while writing one piece. I also grew with this anime and a lot of stuff that happens in one piece seems very similar which is quite weird from my point of view, I think he might also have been inspired by the ghibli movie "the castle in the sky" but that's another subject. Also, one of the wildest thing that was revealed at the end of this show (season 4 which released in 2020 IIRC, so it's impossible to being related to one piece but the script was worked on by the original scenarist of the 80s anime) is that the last city of gold is in the Château de Chambord which is the inspiration of Oda for the pangea castle, that's crazy that they had the same idea. I love so much such concepts that I ended up making a game that have such a mystery around it.

I’m guessing someone else had the powers egghead had and he’s a fruit user and he can learn and invent and in the past others shared that power and a big war caused a collapse so the celestial wear those outfits as the air was unbreathable. Then one piece is a Time Machine hence why he said I’m to early. You need to use it with joyboy. They go to past and gold d Roger is smiling at himself time traveled big hat was prior joy boy aka luffy time traveled so luffy is his own again and people can stop saying he’s destined one chosen one.
