This is the internet, so fuck it. An internet rando's Seraphine review: @seradotwav - gave me Childhood Dreams and All The Things She Said. The aesthetic and the whole content-discovery thing on the socials is pretty cool too. Quite wholesome if you ignore the whole "parasocial relationship" thing. The whole people-simping-over-a-social-media-persona situation was kinda overblown by League content creators. 9/10, I'm a fan of ARY now. LoL Seraphine - have already heard most of the things about her design being incongruent to the Runeterra vibe. To be honest, I didn't give much shit. I'll leave the criticism to those who know their shit and genuinely cared about the game. The "cultured" material was pretty mid, (insert [Belle Delphine reference] here), but that's just an opinion and a preference. As to gameplay, I don't know. Haven't played her much when I was still deep into League. Something something Sona is what I've heard, but ehhh. No strong opinion. 6/10, not enough cosplays featuring the roomba hoverboard. K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine - most controversial aspect of Sera, as I've heard. And, I agree. I know that Riot's a business and profit is the primary directive, but Jesus F. Christ, way to make LoL Seraphine feel like it's just a vehicle to deliver a K/DA skin to the masses. There wouldn't be that big of a hate-bandwagon if some tact was applied. Anyway, skin looks good, as the others from the skinline. Though, I still prefer the motif of the first K/DA skins. More "cultured" content available due to relation with K/DA. 7/10, next time don't make it too obvious that you're just for the fucking money. LoR Seraphine - don't play LoR. Not much of a fan of card games. The look is amazing. I feel the same affection as those of the designs in the Arcane series. Very Disco Elysium. 9.5/10, very Hexpunk (if that's a word).

If you’re gonna make lore for a character, you gotta make it so that it fits in with how the character looks. For example,Caitlyn is supposed to be law enforcement, but I doubt they have any kind of uniform with a hat like hers even for a city like Piltover.

Literally think of anywhere Seraphine could have gotten that outfit. Even the richest people of Piltover have been shown to still fit their aesthetic but she doesn't. Where could she have gotten it? The "stage"? I'm sorry but I think I speak for a majority of people who at first glance do not think the stage looks remotely made from hextech. Caitlyn is a law enforter with a skimpy outfit at first, but it fits the steampunk aesthetic. And I really wanted to love Seraphine because of her concept and her potential in lore. She can be a pop superstar in Zaun and Piltover all she wants, but that outfit doesn't fit Piltover, and it especially doesn't fit League's built up world. I like this LOR version of her design better and it's not bandwagon if people have actual legitimate reasons versus the very few very loud minority.

Her lore was that she could hear the Brakern souls that powered here speakers, her entire theme in Runeterra is inspiring people to come together, using her notoriety as a celebrity pop star to spread the message, and yet she does nothing to help the Brakern. She is the only one who knows, and she just doesn’t care. And the first thing she says when she comes across Skarner in game? She asks if he wants to hear their song. That’s it. That’s like rescuing a puppy that you knew belonged to someone else, walking up to them, and saying “you can pet him if you like” (: It was so shit they had to change it, and they still decided using her as a segway to stop the mining and usage of hex crystals and to return them to him was too interesting for her cause as it is now she’s just bland as bland can be. Skarner has the lore equivalent of Poland’s history. Poor guy can’t catch a break…
