1. There is no gay gene as many genes iffluence sexual behaviour at it was proved by study with the biggest sample of people. 2. Yes we females just like males are biologicaly programmed through evolution to spread and mix our genes by reproducing and there is nothing wrong with that 3. Most intersex specimens of animals are rare cause they don’t live long with such genetics defects so they are not spread futher into population 4. Animals don’t have orientations or identities they just have sexual bahaviours Well I am not interested solely in the person responsible for the creation of these creatures but judging by the video and comments I assumed he/she was horrible. I am more worried that in general communities interested in drawing animals and constructing new species doesn’t consider being inspired by the biological facts and most of the time neglets them implying modern human logic to worlds and species which should be separated from that (that is the whole point of escapism)

With a species that's sentient, you gotta' admit it's a little screwed up that they seemingly never developed any sense of purpose beyond being breeding machines. It'd be different if these creatures were supposed to be on the same level as regular animals. 4. (shouldn't it be 3?) Not touching that one. Lowkey yikes. 5. (or rather 4) I agree, though given they're sentient and have had exposure to humans, I can somewhat understand the reasoning behind applying human concepts like orientation to them. It admittedly does still kinda' kill the escapism aspect that you mentioned, but it's slightly easier to ignore than, say, an alien race who lives in another dimension yet somehow uses human terminology. Unless the culture evolved alongside humanity's (like it kinda/sorta did in this case), a fictional species would be far more likely to have their own fictional equivalents or would possibly even lack such concepts altogether. 100% agreed on the whole thing about people not using biological facts for inspiration. I mean, don't get me wrong, people are free to do whatever they want since that's the whole point of original species. However, when making something you expect to be "believable" (as opposed to a full-on fantasy species) it's better to try to stick as close to actual science/nature as possible. Things like Citras would've made more sense being presented as just some fantasy species instead of this poorly executed sci-fi concept.

its definitely a weird concept, as like Kamyczek said, there's no gay gene, there's no real innate nature to homosexuality. But you know its fiction. Its just such a weird concept. And yeah at that point you have to answer the question "how do they reproduce then?" because, the already weird concept brings attention to that, so that's a problem all on its own. And I guess the "the straight ones are the only ones that breed" other than the inbreeding issue, I guess is the least weird way to fix that issue. I can only think of two others; asexual reproduction, lose a limb, makes a new citra. Which would be fun because their insides could look like the fruit. But still be weird. Or male pregnancy. Which yaknow, is weird. But its a weird concept in general. Add on top of that the "genetic purity" stuff and we've gone full wacko territory, but it only gets worse when you find out these hyper sexual creatures are very short... Yeah, to put a summary on it, freaken creepy species of fictional animal.

That's what happen when you have community of mostly minorities. They're social outcasts to an extent, and thus they gravitate to whatever sense of belonging and connection they can get, because they don't want to face isolation. Honestly, the fact that this guy wanted to make an original species and make them “perfect” in his eyes while also giving them that lab creation backstory reminds me of The High Evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. He experimented on helpless animals to create the “perfect people” (including poor Rocket) but all he really wanted was to have power and control over others by playing God. Zaush gives me such similar vibes just from watching this alone.

I accidentally created a very similar creature to citra in high school called lemur dogs, but their only weird sexuality thing was that they naturally had four biological sexes.

These “neutral ones” were historically seen as especially valuable members of society, since for whatever reason, agender lemur dogs were the only members of their species capable of using magic.

I will start by saying this is from an outside-looking-in perspective. KZbin recommended this video to me, perhaps because the AI wants me to speak my perspective. Those who do not deserve artistic talent usually obtain it anyways, as they do not preoccupy themselves with morals, so they shamelessly pursue artistic endeavors. They are so preoccupied with "I want to, and I can" that they do not ever consider "Should I draw this?", while those who would stand up for decency and morality have a tendency of foregoing development of talent to crusade against immorality. That is the most non-esoteric explanation I can give. Of course, you could chalk it up some David Icke-inspired, tin foil helmet wearing conspiracy theory about the blue furry hexagon and the storm on the north pole of saturn, which has the same shape and colour as the aforementioned furry symbol, as well, but I don't think ya'll're ready for that. (Or maybe you are, and that's why the Algorithm brought me here.)

I think this type of style doesn't really require much of artistic talent, only patience and practice and following tutorials/go-throughs and making a ton of studies; art is a learnt skill. And what they choose to do with the skill is sadly upto them. Which sucks, but could be fixed with strict policies on art platforms and actually punishing people for such things. It won't stop people from drawing the stuff, but at least they wouldn't be able to publish it anywhere and build their platform around it.

I remember I found out about this species two or so years ago, and I somehow managed to gloss over the problematic elements of their lore. I wanted to try writing a thing about them due to how easy it would be for their species to go endangered or extinct. At the time I didn't know how problematic Zaush was, I just thought he drew a lot of infidelity stuff that already made me uncomfortable enough to not want anything to do with him.

I think with that law it has to look like it could be a human person and/or can prove the child's age. Like if you make up a 7 year old child with AI then have realistic porn drawn of them that's child porn because even though it's not a real person it looks exactly or enough like a child. If an actual 15 year old can make themselves look 20 it's still illegal if it can be proven without a doubt their underage (if you can't tell by looking, like you can very easily with younger kids. It's why websites are supposed to make you prove your age to post porn because in court they have to prove the age of the individual if it goes that far. And if it's a child any parent or government official could very easily do that with a birth certificate, driver license, school records etc.). So honestly it's not too hard to prove their age even if they look 20. But this is also why women over 18, who can look a bit younger than the legal age can post porn of themselves because they can prove they are of age and are allowed and no amount of anything can stop them from doing it. But drawing child porn of Liza Simpson isn't counted under this law because Liza doesn't look like a real person and if you show someone who has never seen the Simpsons her regular character sheet they probably wouldn't be able to tell you her age or that she is supposed to be human. At least this is how the law works in America. He will never get arrested for his gross cub garage. Do you seriously think if that was the case the person making this video or anyone could just find the pictures on any old website so easily. It's very gross but lying to give cold comfort to people isn't doing anything.

Honestly, I hate Zaush too. And it doesn't help that he used images of real kids as reference for his underage NSFW stuff. I also make original species too (hell, my fursona is my own original species (a kalgory)), and there really isn't anything special about Citra when you don't count the creator (they are literally just citrus-colored foxes). Considering Dragoneer's history, I don't think Zaush's ban from FA would last very long....

Here's what I'd do for a fruity species (maybe a pun on fruit bats): - Not shoehorn Lamarckist pseudoscience into it - Not limit their sexuality in any way (bisexuality would be most common though) - Have not only their color but certain other traits vary by fruit consumed (combinations, like blue raspberry, are possible), but their body shapes would still vary by individual, and the flavor of their meat and even their blood color/flavor would be affected as well, and it could actually change with their diet (omnivorous but still eating fruit) - Have said fruit can even include tomatoes or zuchinni (those are not vegetables despite what the agricultural industry want you to believe) - They would make fruit puns a lot - I would rather go with pterosaurs than bats (pterosaurs had fur despite what those in arbitrary denial based on outdated paleontological models claim), and they would probably blur the line between anthro and feral - Reference more obscure fruit like durians, kiwanos, dragonfruit, and starfruit (glyptodont-like shells, spikes more for defense than attack, soft scale-like structures, and an unusual general body shape respectively I guess) - The name would be more original, maybe fructodactyls?

What's really fucked is how many people might be completely unaware of certain artists dark side, and then either considering them their favorite or directly commissioning them.
