If you were using Virtual DJ, you would have had this feature like 15 years ago. Also you wouldn’t have had to pay for the free EFX package, or the free sampler, or the FREE video or the many many other FREE things that cost you $29.99 from Serato. They are finally trying to catch up. DJ’s are starting to wake up, there is a better DJ program out there and it doesn’t nickel and dime you to death every time they upgrade the program. It is complete with FREE lifetime upgrades. VDJ # 1 !!!

Sorry.....you may not be able to answer my question but I just purchased pioneer dj decks and noticed this video shows you can mix directly from your laptop w/o them..😣😣😣....but my question is that I downloaded Serato DJ software and it's not displaying the dual tables on my screen to play even if I did purchase the Serato play

Virtual D.J. was able to do this like 15 years ago. Nice try Serato, but you’re still playing catch up. Everything you have to pay extra for, has always been FREE with Virtual DJ ever since the beginning. I’ve been using Virtual DJ for over 15 years, and love it. I have Serato Pro too now, but that’s because it came with my Pioneer controller. I still use it and have Serato installed as a back up, although I’ll probably never have to use it. Virtual DJ has never crashed or had any problems ever, the best DJ program EVER !

I had to purchase VDJ full license (299 $ ) just for the automix function ,because serato has not woken up yet, so now at weddings I use VDJ for the ( predrinks and supper ) and when the floor opens switch form VDJ to SDJ and start. I have suggested to catch up to RB, VDJ and Tactor but all I got is loads of resistance for our DJS and now my MC 7000 obsolete because of Serato play I wonder what the purest are going to say

And yet they look down on VDJ. VDJ has given this feature 100% free for as far as I can remember and you only get to pay if you 're using a hardware. This is by no means a fanboy talk cos I use both SDJ and VDJ (mostly SDJ hence it's required by my clients). Although SDJ seems to be more hyped and recognised in Djing, VDJ offers a whole lot more and seem to be far ahead in terms of features and innovations. To me it appears as if SDJ do not worry about innovation, rather they tend to use all their resources for viral marketing and to remain at the top while adding features that has been on VDJ for decades as their update (they 're copycats in my opinion). It's unfortunate that in real world nowadays people don't seem to value things of its free, cheaper or value for $£, but tends to worship celebrity/youtuber promoted stuff (which they get paid for to advertise), viral or overrated/hyped products and services. SDJ is a good software, am only speaking in terms of features and innovations. I don't think there 're important feature on SDJ that VDJ did not have years earlier but there 're plenty important features on VDJ that even core SDJ users wished they have. They may not admit it publicly. I think VDJ should up their game in marketing cos innovation and feature wise, they 're No1

I'm a DJ and can count over 10 times I ev been at clubs or events where SDJ users slag and tag others as amateurs for using VDJ (I ev been a victim myself on 2 occasions not that I care anyway cos after hearing one of them play, his performance was awful although the other one was great, no doubt. And I then went back to remind him that DJing is not really all about packaging but what you can do to the dance floor!

Great video as always Joey, too bad they don't slap those regular track volume faders onto the interface. When I saw the title of this video, I thought It's the time for me to try out Serato DJ. I'm a Traktor user and i love Traktor for allowing users to comprehensively prep and practice with all the essential knobs and faders found on a DJ mixer without a controller I think Serato should've slapped those volume faders. You just plug it in. One side is for your head phones, the other goes to your powered speaker or stereo system. It’s just a Y adapter.

You use a splitter cable as per the set-up I use here, plug your headphones into one and your speaker into the other, then use the respective "cue" button to put the "new" song into your headphones first.

All these supposed expansions and updates and we still after so many years cannot get a proper library search or create creation and manipulation options that are comparable to the ones available on other DJ software :( .... 1. Creating crates from Folder structure . --- It only took me a month and a half to crate my whole library after switching to serato. 2. Searching the whole library without going back to "All Audio" ---- Easily done with button options for "all library OR This Crate" . Half of my searches still come back with no results .. E.G: IF my song is called 'Come 2 me' but i type 'come to me', I have no results.. There's no reason the engine shouldn't be able to automatically subtitute wildcards and give all possible results for Come * me .. May sound like asking for too much but Virtual DJ search would find it easily. 3. Better and faster BPM analysis ---- Virtual DJ still reads bpm with fairly good accuracy in 25% of the time it takes Serato. Make the current options better before adding fancy expansions that ya'll are years behind with ANYWAY.

ALERT!!! Don’t do the same mistake I did. I ran out to Best Buy and bout a 3.5mm Y splitter and it didn’t work for me because I purchased the wrong cable!! You literally need a Dj Splitter so it works well with the headphone option in Serato Play!

@@digitaldjtips It may be a matter of personal preference but stability wise, I give Serato props...but on everything else i regularly find myself using VDJ to quickly sort out tracks or search through my folders..and also fact that Virtual DJ auto updates your library every time you add a new track makes it sooo smooth to work with unlike the work around you have to use on Serato. In general ease of use Virtual Dj is way better

Damn I was excited until I seen that cross fader blend...no offense but that was bad...thats the most important thing....i do small gigs like bars and small clubs..i got to atleast be able to do smooth transitions...i was about to buy this

It is, thanks for the reply! Hey, one quick question while we're at it. I have some trouble with the latency of the DJ2GO2 in Serato Intro. If hit a Cue Point, the hardware responds very late which makes it hard to bring the next song in, since I always have to adjust it with the jogwheels. And yes, I allready adjusted the latency of the hardware in the settings. I usually use the DDJ SX2 in Serato Pro, which responds waaaay quicker. So am I just spoiled by my previous gear or is there any workaround to make the DJ2GO2 respond even quicker and "on beat" of the current track playing? Thank you in advance guys. :)

Sounds like a weird system issue. Have you tried on another computer to see if that's the case?

It's not worth it to buy serato play due to complicated features . i just prefer vdj for laptop mixing and serato for live dj controller hardware. (for me and my opinion)

True, though you can access the feature on Virtual DJ for free if it's just for home use :) Either way we don't think paying is a huge deal!

Using laptop only on VDJ has been free from day one. You only pay if you want to use hardware like controller, turntable, mixer etc. However the $300 as quoted in for pro infinity membership. Yes it's really infinity that means all features will be unlocked and all your future updates, packs, addons are free forever! No single penny charged. I suggest you actually Check their website all info is online
