Little help: The lobster is a symbol of regeneration, as in the beginning the white water lily is a symbol of rebirth.. Such a deep message. This song is a critique of the modern society and contemporary world. He makes connection with a video games where young people (and everyone else) are, artistically speaking, controlled by someone else and are just observers of all the horror happening around the Globe. He uses himself as a metaphor - (he only wants to sleep), as it is the easiest thing to do - to oversleep all the tragedies and to wake up in a better world. If you carefully look the performance - you will see that they are dancing as zombies as they are under anesthesia not reacting on this "world on fire" as he notices. However, the message of the song is quite opposite - we should all wake up, we should react, we should have more conscience and sapience that he calls on, especially to decision makers. At the end of the song he "releases" those "controlled" masses in order to become more active, more energetic and they together react - walk, make changes together. The "hello" part was written inspired by the Sims game, where the characters wave the player when they want something, instead of taking action, so he uses a parallel with people today.

Also, many Ukrainian people were all over Europe and voted for their country, as the European fans did, some of them out of pity, some because they really liked the song, some because they simply wanted to support them in this way. So what? It was a legitimate and deserved win. And also... Ukraina has great entries every year. Remember Jamala, Shum, Ruslana? Kalush was equally good.

I appreciate Serbia in the contest because they were basically in Eurovision jail* for like 10 years and then they came back in 2004 (or 2007 if you wanna get super technical) and since then they've mostly sent banger after banger *in case anyone doesn't know, Yugoslavia (which was just Serbia and Montenegro at the time) had UN sanctions against them starting in 92 because of the wars going on in the 90s and those were lifted in the early 2000s which is why Serbia has a short lifespan in the contest.

@@tead5675 Hello TeaD - If you read my comment carefully you'll see that I am full of praise for Luke and his entry. My only caveat was that (for me) it is unclear at this point whether he is a deep and meaningful artist, or simply a lovable self-publicist with an irresistable chutzpah. Either way I don't mind, but it is an interesting question as to the nature of an artist. For example to some Picasso was a towering figure of the 20th century, while others call him a dilettante. I think he was both, and maybe Luke is, too. - What I will say is that just because he came up with the whole concept himself doesn't automatically bestow on it any special credence artistically. It could just reveal his strong self-belief, his industriousness, or his inability to compromise his singular vision (A euphemism for 'control freak'). I do see Konstrakta as a true artist. In my concept of what an artist is, anyway. 👍

He himself said in an interview after the win that this was his last attempt to achieve something big with his art, because he is in a different kind of carrier now and he's good at it and obviously satisfied with it... I'd say this guy is enormously creative, and pretty diligent, and if he continues following this path which Eurovision encouraged him about, we will have a true artist as you or any other contemporary interested person would imagine an artist should be. He says he wasn't performing or writing for quite a while, and if you look at his early works (the ones that he wrote before this pause), that's not bad at all, although he was pretty young back then...

Based on what I know about your reaction to Konstrakta, I'm gonna guess you guys are not going to like it, before even watching the video 😂😆 I also think that you will say that the runner-up of the Serbian national selection was a better choice for Serbia, after you listen to his song. Still love your reactions regardless which way it goes 💙 Update: Okay I was way off, but I will say Luke lived in the UK for a long time, and hearing you say that you like electronic music makes sense. I would recommend listening to the studio version. The ending bit especially is trance inducing for me - it makes me feel like I'm in a nightclub. Unfortunately, his live vocal takes me out of it, so I'm hoping he works on that. That's the only part of his performance that makes me nervous regarding his chances on doing well in May. However, he did show some improvement compared to his semi-final performance, so I'm hopeful. This year was basically the year of the twink in the Serbian NF - made it for some fun, interesting and boppy performances.

His song talks about the desire to escape from the madness of this world through a dream. At the same time, he feels that something is controlling him, like in a video game, and he doesn't want to stay in that state. That robot in the background represents that. So at the end he shuts down the dancers and this robot dies, it says 'ENEMY DEFEATED' at the end. The message is to wake up, it is a collective awakening. It's a pity that this boy will be abused by people from Serbia who are not even close to him in terms of talent, education, intelligence, or character...and I feel sorry for those people.
