Outside of Belgrade you'll have 2 crêpes for this price 😅 I live at 140 km from Belgrade and for 350 RSD (~3 euros) you'll have 2 of them in restaurant (classic Eurocrem without banana), so when I back to France sometimes to eat some Galette Complète (salted crêpe) in St-Malo, far away from Paris (where I also live), one of my favorite locations in St-Malo is called "Crêperie le Corps de Garde", on the ramparts looking at the sea... I love french galettes/salted crêpes but the price is at least 4x more than Belgrade classic crepes 😭 and I need 2-3 crêpes, 2 salty, 1 sweet, when we go with family or friends, 500km by car in both directions 😅 add gas and highway toll, already 300 euros and near 30 euros per person for 2-3 crêpes and some cidre 😅 then I remember Serbia is cheap in fact, even Belgrade 😅 and when I go to Belgrade I say it's too expansive 😂 compared to the rest of Serbia.

At the beginning, so-called sarma sa listinom, which are always eaten and combined with kiselo mleko...it is not common throughout Serbia, but very tasty 😋
@HungryTwoTravel26 күн бұрын
😋😉
@beograd0725 күн бұрын
Let me disagree. It is common in summer time and it is called Sarmica sa Zeljem. As Chris correctly stated, in winter time (Sauerkraut in Germany) fermented cabbage leaves are stuffed with rice and mincemeat and some fine chopped smoked speck. It is all cooked with some smoked meat and spices and condiments. It is rich in flavour and calories. In summer time the conditions are not in favour of fermenting the cabbage (or harvest time of fresh cabbage) so instead they use chard leaves readily available in summer months. Also, it is usually less heavy meal than Sarma. Because the chard leaves are not sour and a bit bitter, that dish goes well with sour cream or yogurt. Some people cook Sarmice adding vinegar to the leaves to substitute for fermented cabbage leaves taste, but they are missing crunchiness of cabbage. So because cabbage fermentation season is at the beginning of the winter and chard season time is summer, this is why these two dishes are freshly available in their season’s available time. You can always prepare some Sarma in summer too as the fermented cabbage leaves can be frozen for summer or fermented in a very small quantities (bucket) just for the meal but generally not many people enjoy rich sarma in summer time.

😊 Sportski pozdrav svim gurmanima. 😁
@beograd0725 күн бұрын
@maddjole25 күн бұрын
